Don't chalk it all up to nowadays, though. Sports has always had this. Back the eighties, my state's high school athletic association memo'd the wrestling teams to stop the common practice of shaking the opposing coach's hands after the match, all because of contentiousness that had been coming from one particular team who happened to be on the rise at that time and whose coach would turn away and ignore the opposing wrestlers.

Not sure how common this is, but a local high schooler here who has had an outstanding high school career, was able to place 3rd at 57kg. Community is very proud of him. He actually beat the #1 at 125 at Purdue earlier this year. Jordan's a legend. Might be the goat, that's another debate. Yes he got pissed when he knew the match with nolf was over. I'd be pissed if he wasn't pissed. Caution and one??? I'm cool with that. Boo, that's your liberty. Man that singlet pull with Valencis was a curious one. It's always a long walk home when you lose. Could only imagine what kind of emotions these "non prize fighters" are feeling fighting for one of six spots. Fix vs Soriano headgear call. Man oh man. You put the match in the hands of the ref it's something that'll haunt you for life but we all play by the same rules. Vito was my guy this year man. Super glad Lee will get a chance though. Gillman went down swinging too. Not enough time in these bits to mention those guys either. And then there's Mendez and messenbrink. Fearless!!! We deserve more weight classes, Olympic commitee, and ufc. The schmos not the only one that thinks that. Love that spinning backfist too!

Hey Chael, Big fan! My thoughts are that the PSU fan was still upset about Burroughs vs. Mesenbrink. Burroughs threw a cheap shot at Mitch at the end of the match, and, given that the trials were at PSU, I almost guarantee you that's why the patron was still upset at him and booing. Would love to hear everyone's thoughts on this one, but this is just what I think about the whole thing. I am also a massive Jordan Burroughs fan, but, he did hit Mesenbrink with an objectively cheap shot after a match he had just dominated. Just all around unnecessary.

Taylor is 33. He has had a great career, reached the mountaintop, but he has never been unbeatable. A great defensive wrestler like Dake and apparently Brooks could beat him. I also do not think 86kg was the toughest weight internationally. As to Burroughs, JB could be chippy in his career and he could stretch the rules. Very competitive. Mesenbrink was provoking it, and JB responded.

Just a little backstory to the boo. A couple weeks before, the NCAA championship was going on. Jordan Burroughs was doing commentary for the event. During the event Jordan suggested that Carter Storocci's opponent should target Carters injury during the commentary to gain the edge in the match. F..F. to the challenge tournament and final X. It was being held in Pennsylvania. Carter wrestles at Penn St. So it was Carter's crowd reacting to Jordan's comments he made towards Carter a few weeks before at the NCAA. To top it off Jordan Lost to Jason Nolf, also a Penn St grad. Jordan said the quiet part out loud 😂 So of course Jordan was going to get booed in Carters and Nolfs house lol.

Not because of Jordan Burroughs. Nobody outside of wrestling knows who he is or cares. He’s obviously an amazing wrestler. But he doesn’t have much appeal beyond that and a lot of people have sided against him recently on his stances and actions. He’s had a great career, but the rise of wrestling does not seem to be because of him.

Zahid was a punk fro the beginning. So glad Brooks took him down. Really Zahid did almost nothing the whole match but the one take down.
