I was picked on and laughed at and treated very poorly by my older Bros/Sis, this started when I was just a baby, I'm almost 70 now and it still bothers me. What you do to a child stays with that child all through their life.

I hit my brother when I was 12 and he was 10 or 11. I have cried about it maybe 5000 times after it happened. I love him to death and don't care how much more I will cry to fix it. there was no blood though and no brusers. Still hurts.

I'm 72, my family laughed at my body, skinny and pale and I was called "One Lung". Nothing I did was good, it was always good for a "Blind boy" and even today I'm in a constant battle for perfection which I can never reach. Bullied at school, I'm sure you know how it feels. Then I've made mistakes, the emotional cost is always with me. It's a hard road we walk my friend but I hope it leads to something worth while.

Whatever people do, they should absolutely stop running those movies inside their heads. I took up running biking hiking working out, quit listening to any music except spiritual uplifting music, no more of the songs that took me back. And prayer, handing it to God over and over. It can be done. You will have moments, but the habit of moving past those thoughts will eventually root and spread, all habits are like that. If one says I can’t, that becomes your life. I kept saying that until one day I said yes I can and kept saying that when I felt like I was going to slide back. I refuse to be hijacked by what can’t be changed.

Music is actually very good for your head heart and soul .. not anything that hurts you in bringing bad feelings or memories but besides God music is my best friend. The lyrics hit like better than trying to make it make sense to a human being... plus I don't trust anyone with personal issues. So please don't let music seem as the problem
@lisatowe778

@@trishamccarty3202 I read what I wrote and can’t find your personal take on music being the problem. I suppose people read what they want and take it based on their personal issues. If a song makes you nostalgic, if it makes you think of someone you lost, if it makes you anything but upbeat, it is not putting you in a more peaceful para sympathetic place. Take that how you will.

My 17-year-old son was murdered by a pack of cowards in 2007. Still have nightmares every night. Tried therapy. Had to quit when we got to the part where the therapist wanted me to describe the content of the nightmares, because no one, especially someone capable of empathy, should have those images planted in their head. You can't ever get them out. They haunt you. One haunted person is more than enough. I don't know how to make it stop.

That idea that you don't want to pass on your bad memories to an empathetic person is the product of a defense mechanism in your own mind that wants to prevent you from thinking about your bad experience because of the painful emotions. If I may, I would suggest you consider going back to therapy but tell the therapist that you're not ready to deal with the memories directly. Any good therapist should be well aware of something like this and will help you work through your issue in other ways. Therapists also go to therapists when they feel they need to so it would best for you to be more concerned with how your issue is affecting your life than worrying about how the therapist will feel.

Yes, there is. You just have to realized that you are never alone. You probably had some part of you tied up in your wife, so her death left you feeling like a part of you was amputated. However, your mind is actually capable of regenerating that part. If I have listened to Jordan Peterson well enough, then it would seem that one of the ways, if not the best way, to figure out how to regenerate that part is to talk about it. Also, use reason to guide you, because the universe is a very reasonable place, for instance: if you drive a smart car at top speed into a solid steel cubed object which is significantly larger than the car, then that car will tend to become a lot more like a crumpled tin can than a car. Reason is always by your side, you may not apply it to your decision-making processes all of the time, but the outcomes of your actions are not dictated by your mind, they are dictated by reason. What has helped me is having a well thought out plan. A couple of years ago I permanently ended (that is what I believe at least) a decade+ long cycle of depression, which at its very lowest point had culminated in a 99.9% loss of my will to live. I had no reason to live because I was sleeping. I was sleeping because I had decided that reality was too painful to be awake for. I was angry, so angry, but I eventually decided that I was physically alive, so there must have been a reason for it. I fought on. A couple years ago I had a breakthrough of sorts. It is written in the Bible, that the God of Christianity is love as well as some other things, but also, and this is a bit harder to prove, that the God of Christianity is Reason. I had a bit of an epiphany. Reason made humans who were capable of reason because reason is pointless without companionship. Also, companionship is pointless without reason. Ergo, the goal of life is to be like God (Reason), by being reasonable, in order to produce the best possible atmosphere for companionship, so that we may commune with one another in everlasting Joy. Sadness and Loneliness are temporary, but joy can be unending.

So sorry to hear about your loss. May I suggest going to a therapist to talk through your feelings? It could have the following positive benefits: (1) You won't be completely alone - someone to talk to (2) S/he can help you process your sadness and especially note if it's getting out of hand and dangerous to you (like depression which can lead to things far worse). (3) The very action of finding a therapist will move you off dead center and get you moving in at least SOME direction (which can help if you feel completely stuck). Also, consider going to a local church (in person, not a TV church!). This can help you be part of a community and can help you deal with your loss. "A threefold cord is not quickly broken." You can find friends there and others who are or have experienced what you have. All the best, my friend. I'm a Christian. I know that true Christianity is something that has gone greatly out of favor in 2022, but you'll find comfort in the Bible and the story of redemption through Christ. My prayers are with you. You're not alone. That said, please take some steps to keep from staying alone. It won't bring your beloved wife back, but it will help you deal with the sadness and potentially make the life you have in the future better. All the best, friend. Tom

I've suffered from anxiety for three years and it just doesn't go away. It's like a monster living inside you. It's there when I wake up in the morning and it's sitting in side me throughout the day just waiting for the slightest little thing to trigger it. I feels like a cement mixer in my chest going round and round. Slowing down then the slightest thing will make it to go faster. I can find quiet places that will slow it down but it always comes back again.

leave god for when you feel better. Right now you need to seek help. It's easy to decide to live with anxiety since it's not fatal. But the truth is anxiety kills the person that you are even if it doesn't kill your body. There is help. You just need to find it. here's a little solid fact: you will not be able to beat anxiety on your own. And If you need motivation, here it is: Anxiety is called the disease of Lost Opportunities, because those who decided to live with it looking back at their lives see that they were too anxious to act on any opportunity that came their way. Seek help, and in the least bless yourself with the comfort of knowing that you tried even if you don't find the fix.

this isnt his channel dumbass he didnt intend for this clip and title pair. and anyways if you pay attention you can construct a means to solve the issue, which is 1) identify the obstacles 2) figure out the solutions to them 3) do something to cement, or "update" said solution in your mind. now you would wisely go and search up how to identify said obstacles and their proper solutions because that seems rather complex.

I thought he made his point very clearly. Your anxiety is a result of the obstacles that you create for yourself. First identify those obstacles and then create small steps to help you gain the confidence to face those obstacles. Once you get to the point where you have faced that obstacle, you will probably realise that it was not as bad as you created in your mind. Then as a result, you can start changing your perception of these obstacles that you keep facing. The issue for people is that they are too fixed on the obstacles or worse, are not able to identify these obstacles. It's always a challenge but by taking small actions, it's never impossibly to overcome.
