Jordan Peterson: The radical Left is guilt-tripping the West into oblivion

Dr Jordan Peterson discusses how to win the culture war, with insights from Soviet and Nazi dissidents who stood up against tyranny and compares their struggles with clampdowns on free speech today. He sits down with The Telegraph’s Steven Edginton in a wide-ranging discussion from why Britain was a miracle for the world to if he is addicted to Twitter:
On the culture wars:
“The right lacks vision. They play a rearguard game. They don't have a compelling story to tell young people. And because they're conscientious, conservatives are conscientious, it's easy to hoist them on the petard of guilt. And the psychopathic narcissists of the radical left are unbelievably good at that.”
On the personal versus the political:
“I think you have to get your psychological house in order before you can be even remotely effective politically in the fundamental sense. Otherwise, you're just a tool of ideology or your own ego.”
On Britain:
“English common law is a complete bloody miracle … what a phenomenal accomplishment. And so, yes, I think that makes Britain singular and worthy of tremendous admiration … It's a country that's suffering from far too much guilt at the moment.”
On Twitter:
“Twitter isn't optional, it's how I sample the culture. Is it a biased sample? Probably.”
On slavery:
“It was the British who decided hands down that slavery was wrong and then did something about it. And that is documented historical reality.”
On the EU and France:
“A lot of the centralising tendency that's characteristic of the EU can be laid at the foot of the same spirit that motivated the French, the French revolutionaries … I see the French Revolution in itself as a reflection of something deeper, which is the continuing manifestation of the spirit of Cain.”

That was unquestionably one of the most laid-back and enlightening discussions a mainstream media journalist has permitted Jordan Peterson to engage in in quite a while! Kudos to that young man! The psychopaths have worked for decades to dumb down people through 'education' and 'culture' via mass media. So now they don't hide at all: they know the general population is very dumb as they have created their morality, their intellect, their analytical abiliry, their psychology. For a critical thinker point of view the world of the mass psychology makes no sense: it don't follow the rules of reason, nor the rule of interest. It follows the rules of conditionning by ivan pavlov and skinner. People are animals and have been tamed.

More manipulation, they swing us from left to right, always steadily getting more and more tyrannical. Study the history of 'democracy' on a macro scale to see this pattern. Many 'dissidents' are held up as heros like this by the media, how does that make sense? If Peterson was a genuine dissident, we would never have heard of him, unless we truly dug deep into the underground. He is an academic, playing his role, nothing more. They defined the playing field and still do. They need to provide an outlet for citiicism and resistence, like these interviews, so we feel like something is being, or will be, done. Meanwhile they continue to progress the program.

As a canadian, one thing that disgust me is how many immigrants the government is allowing to enter the counry each year. I saw figures near 500k and we are a country of 40 million people. That's more than 1% PER year. I live in a small city of 50k inhabitants and the price of housing is skyrocketing while having an inocuppancy ratio of less than 1%, something that was never seen before in the country. At the same time, our population pyramid age is inverted due to the baby boomers now retiring, putting an enormous strain on our healthcare system. And to keep matter worsening, the organization that regulate doctors in the country doesn't recognize medical degrees earned outside of canada. From what I've seen, most immigrants are of low social class entering the job market taking all the minimum salary jobs. And like I wrote above, there's many field of studies that Canada doesn't regnoize if the degrees are earned outside of Canada meaning that the few competent immigrant that could help can't and are stuck at taking low paying job and putting more stress of our semi-socialist economy. Like Jordan said, there's a group of sociopath in charge of our country that just want to spread chaos.

Wow - I think the Dostoevsky quote of "Every man is not only responsible for what he does but what everyone else does" is pure genius for those who can grasp the concept. It forces us to consider every consequence of every decision and action large or small. For example: Tribalism and wars only ever happen if we (each of us) allow differences to be amplified to the point of hatred and mistrust then allow psychopathic leaders into power that leverage that division into conflict. Clearly we are responsible and our elected "politicians" take that to the next level.

What I will take from this interview is his advice what to do in the case of tragedy. "Bury it with hope... " This needs to be constantly reminded . We all know as that as long as we are alive there is hope in any circumstances but while facing tragedy , it's often extremely difficult to find that hope and look past those certain difficulties. So, in the face of all sorts of tragedies, let's give ourselves time , be patient and find hope...

@@burculuks He is _not_ saying "feelings over facts." The context is the French Revolution, in which rationality was deemed the _only_ arbiter of custom, to the exclusion of the wisdom accumulated in tradition (including religious tradition), law and culture. This is the classic error of radicals, from Robespierre to Pol Pot. I'm an atheist, BTW.

Alexander Solzhenitsyn said, “Violence can only be concealed by a lie, and the lie can only be maintained by violence. Any man who has once proclaimed violence as his method is inevitably forced to take the lie as his principle.“ At this time when emergent AI technology is being reviewed on a national level for possible misuse, an AI that does not distinguish between the truth and a lie by mimicking human qualities is doing a violent act, IMO. Regarding humans, see my post 1 day ago.
