With just five weeks remaining before the FedExCup Playoffs, the PGA TOUR heads to the Quad Cities for the John Deer Classic. Jordan Spieth returns to the John Deere Classic for the first time since 2015. Spieth is a two-time winner at TPC Deere Run including in his last appearance nine years ago when he shot a third-round 61. Spieth’s 2013 victory at the John Deere Classic was his first TOUR title. Reigning champion Sepp Straka aims to become the first repeat winner since Steve Stricker won three in a row from 2009-2011. The Austrian is currently 17th in the FedExCup standings and has four top-10 finishes so far this year. Jason Day is another contender with four top-10 finishes in 2024 and returns to TPC Deere Run for the first time since 2011. Day has never missed the cut at the John Deere Classic in five appearances, with his best finish (T15) coming in back-to-back years, 2009-10. Other names to look out for this week include Sungjae Im, J.T. Poston, Jake Knapp, Aaron Rai and Joel Dahmen.

The talent is still there. Jordan is TOO much in his own head. After posting a 63 and still showing frustration shows mentally he has a long way to go to be the Jordan of old.

No one has ever questioned his talent. But there's just too many young guns and up and coming players that lap him from tee to green

More about pin placement, green speed and more than that the conditions. Perfect to go after it today. I think there might have been a 59 today. Could be a wild finish

LOL, with all due respect, he had it for 9 holes. Unfortunately, the minute he got really good, he didn't play well on the back.

great watch today! could have easily been 10 under if not for a couple mental lapses from 100 yrds out in the middle of the fairway.

To remark that yes we would even be still talking about Jordan Spieth has been a journeyman. He can’t get out his own way a overthinker . He’s a neurotic golfer. He’s always been that way. He doesn’t have the right temperament for the game of golf and that includes missing shots, pain failure he can’t handle it, never on the leaderboard first page on Sunday ever

Love how Jordan Spieth is 7 strokes back, not even remotely in contention for Sunday, and the PGA is still hyping him over the five people who actually deserve it 🤔

No different to Tiger getting coverage when he is +6 for a major and is about to miss the cut. Jordan is a winner previously here and a 3 time major winner… why can’t he get coverage?

I wouldn't get too excited by the time Sunday afternoon rolls around who probably be tied for 42nd again or maybe he. Won't make the cut but it doesn't matter he has one anything? He is an absolute pitiful player anymore so the other reason these probably playing good is because they're. Aren't any other great players playing pop 20? 5 or soul are not even in this tournament he. Usually? Does? Better when nobody shows up. I have all the faith in the world. He'll never win this.

What you say makes ZERO sense. If you think nobody showed up because the names aren't Mcilroy, woods, Dechambeau, your knowledge of golf and all aspects of the game are that of the typical "driving range golfer".
