Agreed w/ Uke Mike..I’ve experienced exponential growth in my bjj from details and concepts in Jordan’s videos (ie fish for under hooks, don’t let ppl grab your head, hips above opponent in scramble, slide hips under opponent to leverage their weight). Big fan 🤙🏼

I'm a brand new white belt at 35 years old and I'm terrified all day before going to train after work, but once I'm there, I'm so happy that I am. Each day I go is a small victory, and even through the insecurities and the little annoying injuries, I feel stronger mentally, physically, and emotionally.

I’m 37 and a purple belt, I still get the butterflies every single time while driving to class. Enjoy your white belt, it’s liberating and full of freedom. Each time you rank up that belt is going to feel a little heavier 😂 a bulls eye on your back hehe. Oss

Great podcast! You always know it's good when you lose track of time listening to it and you want the podcast to continue. Good mix of advice/knowledge with some humor thrown in. Got some good take aways from it. Side note: I laughed quite a bit when you guys all talked about being called by name or professor. I honestly didn't know the proper etiquette when I moved back because the previous gym I went to was quite traditional and we had to address the instructor by sensei or professor.

Congrats on starting the podcast Jordan🤙it’s awesome 👏 I am a bigger guy around 95 kg and l am often struggling during rolling not to smash people.l always promise to myself before the roll starts not to do that but during the roll adrenaline kicks in,specially when my partner gets to a better position and l naturally use my strength and mobility to get on top and win and very often l feel bad afterwards unless it was a higher belt then l am ok with it.l am sure it will change with time and when l get more experienced.Best wishes from London and thank you for doing great job for the bjj community

Love the podcast! Great to hear your opinions on people that just hold you down. Could you talk about what to do with people that have BO problems on your next Pod. One guy in my class that smells really bad and sometimes want to tap-out to the smell. I don't want to be rude and tell him that he smells but also don't want to be rude and say no when he asks me to rolling with him and then go roll with someone else. any suggestions would be great.

Hi Jordan, I got my blue belt in 1997 and it was a mix probably 80% Jiu jitsu and 20% vale Tudo. We would have challenge matches from different styles constantly. And most techniques were called “m f er do it like this or I beat you”.

With the discussion around taking jiu jitsu home with, my words not their's, it has been critical to write down my game. It's written down similar to a flow chart where I know my A, B, and C for each position i.e. I do my homework and critique my own rolls. I dont leave jiu jitsu in the gym.
