Excellent video. My relationship of 5 years ended a month ago. The love of my life decided to leave me, I really love her so much I can’t stop thinking about her, I’ve tried my very best to get her back in my life, but to no avail, I’m frustrated, I don’t see my life with anyone else. People should remember that the star of that show, Sarah Jessica Parker, has been in a committed relationship with 1 man (her husband), since she was in her late 20s. In other words the character who many women see as something to aspire to, herself lived a very different life- a life committed soley to one man.

I too married at 22 and my husband was 30. We have been happily married for 46 years! I also had finished University and had a well established career when we got married. We have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. It is a wonderful full life 😊

Im glad Peterson clarified on men are NOT designed like that. I absolutely despise that description and find it an absolute insult to masculinity, men and God’s design making men out to be animals that is women tame. How do you justify that and then claim men are supposedly leaders, logical, rational and moral. But yes immature men act like this because there’s a difference in having a higher sex drive vs being designed to be an immoral animal ‘sowing his seed’.

I always thought it was so stupid when kids in school, like Elementary school, would say they were dating. My mind was so black and white and to me, the only point of dating someone was to get married and who was going to date all throughout school?! I know that it used to happen but in this day and age, it is clearly rare. I never dated some guy just because I wanted to have fun. I would date him because I thought I would maybe be able to have a future with him one day. Or at least I was testing it to see if they were someone id want to marry

He's right.. I've met a guy exactly like this and he would always go call his mom and his mother would be okay with his behavior. He had a high body count at 19, Muslim, was manipulative, narcissistic (always taking selfies), lied/ told me half-truths without telling the full truth. Just look at Ali Abulaban. It's true and I wish I knew better but I had to learn on my own and now I do my best to avoid these types of people.

When my mom left my dad for another man, my husband and I went in for marriage counseling for ourselves, simply because we wanted to be sure the same thing didn't happen to us. Commitment is a decision we make every day! Also I highly recommend counseling, even if there are no issues. It was amazing and super helpful for making our relationship stronger.

This is like good news for women who tried their best to stay away from such short-term relationships. I also believe that a mature masculine man will not want to indulge in such life

I am female and my completely honest answer to Jordan's question "why not promiscuity and one night stands" would be; Both of that is very attractive to me. Feeling adrenaline in veins, pumping up my ego seeing that I am attractive to males, enjoying the privilege of paid dinners, gifts... It is all attractive like sugar to me. But, I know the price of it. I know the almost inevitable consequences of that kind of living...and that's not what I want. That's not the price I am ready and willing to pay. My peace, my stability, my future, my moment in Space have higher value to me than several years of living on clouds of generally dangerous hedonistic illusions.

I would be quite terrified having a discussion with Peterson. But it must be so much I can learn from . It must be amazing to be in a group of people who aren’t afraid to share knowledge and have meaningful discussions. Clearly difficult ones and exhausting. But being with people is exhausting anyway. Learning something while socialising gives it a sense though.

The thing you need to realize is that, whatever you want to call it, we have an "aura" and an energy imprinted on our bodies.. and partnering with someone is one of the deepest most intimate way two souls can connect. Thus by not being selective with who you choose to be intimate with, or being shallow on evaluating that based on physical appearance alone, you are at risk of tangling your own energy with someone else's energies. We refer to sexuality as "purity" vs. "impurity" for a good linguistic reason.

I have a bro-in-law who spent his 20's sleeping with different girls every night. When I went to the bars & clubs with him, I was so impressed how easily he picked up gorgeous girls. Now in his 50's, he's jobless, not in very good health, and still lives at home with his parents. I'm really glad I stuck with my guns of pursuing LTR'S.

Brett's views and intelligence never fails to impress me, shes certainly not your average 22 year old these days. Its no wonder she was drawn to a male who happened to be 8 years older and more mature then those of an age similar to herself. I certainly hope for the best for her in life.

This is one of the best vid's from Jordan I've seen, having a serious talk with Brett on male and female issues. Brett tends to say things on her channel that is a bit uninformed, and it would be so cool (not possible I know) if Jordan could step in on respond to Brett's remarks on occasion, and test her thinking on some things, it would be so awesome.

She's certainly a statistical anomaly compared to the peers of her generation and clearly wise beyond her years. The women who do opt for the Sex & the City route in their 20s will typically find out that their baggage will come back to bite them once they realize the time for finding a lifelong mate is running thin. Feminism has sold cohorts of young women the pernicious lie of prioritizing career above family, and many will only recognize that when it's too late.

I have always had this desire and still do. You keep yourself pure and only date to marry however, in my life it doesnt lead to marriage. You open and tell men that these are your conditions and what you want. 6mts - 1 year you find out that the character and values are not aligned. Then you have to start all over again. For those who met there true partners on the first try congratulations but its not everyone's reality

Very interesting discussion/interview made me think, but some parts i'm having trouble understanding fully.

Short term vs Sleeping around. People have dated for 6 months or less, which is different from sleeping around. Fabulous conversation! I learned a lot from casually dating about myself: social awkwardness, a lack of social cue and body language, how to converse, etc. etc. Henry Cloud wrote a fantastic book on it. Found my husband at age 28, and we’re around the same age as well. Very happy. Marriage is indeed the best foundation for family and stability. I hope anyone who struggles with their internal loneliness finds a path to companionship, be it a friendship or relationship. Longterm companionship leads to stability and safety, and is able to nourish it. I hope everyone can heal their wounds, whether self-decided or externally decided. JP is spot on culturally and based in the maturity level of males vs females when it comes to mating strategies. It’s better in the longrun to be monogamous in a relationship to assure the child is yours. Whereas if you’re promiscuous you’re at a higher risk of illegitimate kids you don’t have access to or being hooked on child support whilst possibly not even being the father of the child. I was just happy to be in that room, and petrified that id be called upon. I see Brett, and she is so poised, and brilliant. Such a brilliant young woman. I never got called on, and i am still ok with it. I was just happy to be in the room, and the opportunity to raise my hand. God Bless, what a community this is.

it's nice to settle down and commit young but it's also good to explore _for the right reasons_ (not loneliness. to explore yourself, to experiment, by connecting with different people). healthy stable relationships are way more work than people think and unless that desire is coming from a genuine place and you're lucky to find someone compatible in life and characteristic, it will likely just become another life lesson

I was actually discussing polygamy with a very close group of friends, and 2 of them were really thinking into applying that to their own lives and were kinda "preaching" the concept of not being locked in a relationship, and this video really paints my idea as well, believe that always searching for that sexual arousal and feeling with multiple different people leads to more instability and less control of our emotions, than finding a companion that you can share and spend your life with. I'm not saying it should be forever, as nowadays I find it more hard to find that partner after getting out of a 9 year relationship, but I truly believe we find solace and comfort when we get to share that with just one person. And I don't see anything wrong with only wanting to do that with 1 person only.

I like Jordan, but am not a fan of his new wardrobe. A lot of very interesting suits that don't match his personality. I'm sure they are expensive, but they look silly. They seem like they would be for someone more whimsical and less educated.

From a man point of view. The overwhelming majority of woman arent worth the risk of any sort of emotionnal attachment. And short term fun, still help numb the lonelyness, at least momentarly. Satisfy, our sexual desire and still allows some form of attachment. Almost no man prefer to sleep around over commitment to a worthy woman. But we might meet only a few in our lifetime, and the likelyhood of it being reciprocated is yet far lower. So when the choice is alone and sexless, alone and sexually satisfy, and in a relationshio that will hurt you in unspeakable ways... I choose alone and active. If the right one comes alone, Ill jump on the occasion. But I certainly wont live throught 40years of sexual frustration in the delusionnal hope that one day maybe Ill find... If the dating market was different the calculation would be MUCH different. But it doesnt matter what we want it only matter what is. And what is, is that right now there is an imbalance in risk/reward in being emotionnally attached...

Part of the problem is that so many TV shows and movies push the myth and engender the zeitgeist that a serious relationship can come from engaging in hook up culture- when in reality you need to avoid hook up culture to find a meaningful relationship. It’s more about people not knowing how to build intimate relationships anymore than it is about people solely wanting to short term relationships.

Efforts or events that cross a group boundary are often looked at with greater suspicion than an event or an effect that originates within the group: man to woman, white to black, straight to gay, adult to child, republican to democrat. The event will be no worse for originating within the group, but anyone in that group who is offended by it will attribute it to the individual, while the event or effect that originates within a different group will tend to be attributed to the entire group.
