I love that Donna uses the same ruler for most everything she does…she is proof that simplicity works. I have many specialty rulers but don’t use most of them…at some point I just thought I “needed” them.

Oh WoW! This is probably one of my top 3 quilts that I have ever seen you make. I've watched a ton of your videos too, so that is saying a lot. That is sure is a different block but your demo made it totally doable. I love how your choices of grunges still gave the whole quilt the look of silver and gold without it being silver and gold!

Beautiful quilt! I love stars, neutral fabrics and grunge. I think I'd draw out those double flying geese blocks and foundation papet piece them to save on a lot of fabric waste. Interesting technique though to create the star on a square look.

Donna, I just made that new-to-you portion today. I made a very similar star for a red white and blue table runner. I’m new to quilting so I didn’t even know this might be a new technique. I loved watching how you did yours. I didn’t look right to me at first but I trusted the instructions. That little diamond square in mine is navy blue with white stars. It looks great!

I've been a fan of Robert Kaufman's "Holiday Flourish" for several years, and I usually buy some every year. I love all the colorways. Leftovers from previous years coordinate with the new fabrics. It's a great fabric line and a beautiful quilt!

Donna, the yellow star on the bottom left looks like the tips of the star extends itself the way the patterned HST are turned differently than the others. I like it!

This was such an unusual quilt and I especially enjoyed seeing that one piece come together. The fabrics go great together, then again I have never seen you go with fabrics that do not go great together. Thank you for showing a new technique.
