Never once met the man, or even saw him on a bike in the flesh. The skills were up there on the screen, but in many ways, more importantly than that. Everything I've ever read, heard or seen seemed to highlight just what a thoroughly decent human being he was. He lived and died doing what he loved, whilst elevating both his own skills, those around him and the sport as a whole. Not very many people live a life like that, even if they get to live into their 90's. R.I.P Jordie, mountain biking is significantly diminished with your passing.

@@omp365 I grew up in Parksville where this was filmed and used to go ride there whenever he had his jump clinics or jump jams. Gonna miss him. :(

RIP Jordie. I didn't know you, but this stuff helps me with my mental health and I loved riding on the island. Condolences to all the family and friends and those that knew him.

Had the privilege of being present for the construction of some very steep drops being built by Ryder and Jordie. This was in Parksville b.c....in a rainforest gully at the very top of Corfield st. Between wild green and the old hwy.. Jordie was always first to hit the really scary drops!!!.....the freakiest one being nearly 45 ft of vert before very quickly shooting up off a 6 foot jump angled to the left, so as to not smash face first into a Douglas fir!!!....lol I honestly did not know of his passing until yesterday. 😭😭😭....never knew him beyond an aquantance. Doesn't make it any less upsetting for me....I know how very missed he is!! - " Downtown Dave".

this is the video that got me into dirt jumping literally watched it so many times to learn how to ride the jumps coz there werent much videos back then to teach how to dirt jump with youtube being new

I grew up in parksville and Jordie used to hold clinics there for all the kids. He had some smaller tabletops and doubles and a bigger practice double he built for us and we also had access to his foam pit. He was an amazing human being and will be sorely missed by all of us who used to go there and ride.
