Many people around the world find themselves terrified of spiders and other arachnids. But no living spider was ever as terrifying as the Jorogumo of Japanese mythology. According to legend, a Jorogumo came into being when a spider turned 400 years old, growing to a monstrous size and gaining magical powers, that included the ability to transform into a beautiful woman. It would then use this form to lure in unsuspecting men and feast on them, like a spider would on a fly!

I have a character (not a jorogumo) that did that in her younger days, though by the point the story takes place she's moved on to bounty hunting, as she realized people will pay money that you can spend on tastier food if you bring them bandits

Patriarchal clans have a different value for spiders than matriarchal clans it seems. Spider tricksters are a combo Khaos (Nyx & Erebus) + Ananke/Moirai that I really enjoy. Makes most sense when you view Ananke as the sum of the 3 Moirai… the partner of Chronos (Aether & Hemera) Remember everyone: for prophecy to work there’s no free will and but 1 timeline in the multiverse 😊😊😊 Us indigenous pagans have psychic abilities gifted to us by Artemis for having mothers who obeyed the wild hunt before we were born.

“Whore Spider” is the loose translation. I can say it, our friends here can’t, I’d be remiss if I risked them catching a nonsensical “violation” for using proper language or accurate translation. So I’ll take the hit. Eat a bowl of poop, KZfaq. My old Kendo Sensei told me about this critter, there’s also an episode of Grimm on the subject, but it does no justice. The Japanese people don’t fear spiders, but as they do are observant, and, at the time were wary of all Yokai. Good on you for bringing this some attention. No one else out here does this. I know I’m late to the party, but I love these works, and can’t wait to get caught up and see the latest and greatest as my girl says.

jorogumo is my favorite 4 star monster from yu gi oh, with a stat of 2100 attack its undoubtedly the strongest 4 star monster in the game, some 5 or even 6 star monster have less attack stat than jorogumo , it is truly a cheat card
