Commissioned and premiered by Opera Theatre of St. Louis as part of the celebration of their 10th anniversary season. World Premiere - May 30, 1985 at Opera Theatre of St. Louis in St. Louis, Missouri. This recording - November 15, 1988 at the Nissei Theatre in Tokyo, Japan featuring several members of the original St. Louis cast.
