Creado en los años 30 del siglo XX por el legendario Django Reinhardt, el Gypsy Jazz, Jazz Manouche o Gypsy Swing fue la primera contribución totalmente original de Europa al desarrollo del jazz.
Joscho no solo es el mejor guitarrista de este estilo de Alemania, sino uno de los mejores y más espectaculares guitarristas europeos.
