UPDATED: Man City won treble in 2023. Guardiola hired in 2016 with Gundogan & John Stones. In 2017 came Ederson, Kyle Walker, Bernardo Silva. 2018 came Riyad Mahrez & Rodri in 2019, also that year the value of the City squad had exceeded €1 billion, becoming the first football club in the world to assemble a squad with this value. It took 7 years patience, dedication, and huge investments to make HERITAGE/History. Not just in 2-3 years!!! Jose was right.

Every once in a while, I come back to watch this iconic press conference, just so that I can remind myself what Mou really meant by saying "Football Heritage". This goes beyond football, it applies to life as well, "Investments from the past", is something that we usually take for granted, all of the things you do today will reflect clearly in a few years time.

This heritage is exactly what has enabled Real Madrid to get dominated in games and still reach the UCL final, meanwhile PSG and City couldn't overcome the hurdle despite better players.

Exactly. But he built that in Real Madrid. He did it and nobody else. Last time they played a semi final, before he arrived, was 2002-03, he arrived in 2010-11. Heritage is what caused that Real Madrid side to win 3 titles in a row. I still do not understand how is it that big clubs are not supporting this man. In my opinion only Klopp has quality like Mourinho. Guardiola for me is nowhere neat their level, he is just a manager that is backed but big clubs for some reason, with no justification., in my opinion.

Are you crazy? The real team is stacked at literally every position. That their midfield can still play high level football at their age shows that. PSG is just a top heavy team, very few players in that squad would start for other top teams

People say he plays defensive football but also forget Mourinho is responsible for the greatest counter attacking masterclass in history. @@nosakhareanthony5677 Mourinho did a good job but the winning mentality was always there at Real Madrid, few clubs can compete with their legacy and lust for glory. Even when they had a crisis after 2003 and became second best to Barca coming in as second best was never considered a success. Players and managers were put aside mercilessly when they didn't perform at top level. Even when Mourinho took them to the CL semi finals the club and supporters were not satisfied and he had to go.

We played terrible football under him and he has failed at every club he managed since. The players that he bought that had "a different mentality", where are they now? He deploys outdated tactics in our era of modern football and will be very lucky to be offered another top job at club level.

In an era where ability to control games is a key to consistently challenging for titles, his style of football is completely irrelevant. Funny guy, loads of charisma but unfortunately lacks tactical nous and has completely fallen off. There's a reason he's unemployed and won't be approached by another big European club.

What he means translates in english to "inheritance". It's what each manager "inherits" as they start a job for the club. So it's "football inheritance", which is a common term in portuguese football (herança futebolística).

If you really think (Even as Real Madrid fan), way back to 2010, José re-established the winning culture, especially in Europe into the club, Ancelotti continued and Zidane made it flourish, and now Ancelotti again. José STARTED IT, even though he didnt win la decima, Ancelotti did, but Ancelotti's team gained a lot from José, let's be honest.

There are two major observations you can make- 1) Mourinho always got criticised in England when he wasn't immediately winning things, despite everything that he had achieved, in Utd I remember he was the one who won them a European trophy after many years, sacked still! Sacked after 6 months post winning premier League with Chelsea in 2015.. Wenger should've been sacked like millions of times by the same logic! It doesn't apply to other managers.. 2) the respect he gets in Roma is indicative of their achievements! Both Inter and Roma had shown immense respect to him and he did immense things with them! With Roma, which isn't a good team at all, he took them to 2 European finals in 2 years! The man is a legend !

Basically he is saying Man United didnt make the right decisions in the past years in terms of the investing in the right players and somehow he is expected to turn around things in 2 days, its a long process which requires pateince, long term careful investment and cooperation and trust between owners and fans with the manager.
