I'm loc'd. I've got microlocs. My locs turned 3 months last week. This is my second set tho. With my first, I combed them out after 6 months. I wasn't okay with how they were turning out. I wanted smaller locs. So I did the second install myself. Took me 4 days tho. I'm very satisfied with the outcome. Oh and I use 2 point because it's the easiest for me. 😊😊

I work on my daughters locs. A friend in Ghana got them started when we lived there. She took a few out when she was younger and I want to fix those areas. She loves her locs and her hair is really coily like yours. So helpful to see how you start with your fingers.

Im on my 2nd set of locs as well. And decided to go smaller with this set too. My first set was 78 locs which I had for over 9 years. My 2nd set is 180 ish and currently locked for a little over a year. I love locs! I use a 2 point rotation because my fine hair needs all the body it can get.

This makes so much sense... only doing a 2 point rotation so the locs can fill out more! I have fine hair and have cut my locs off 3 times because I was just dissatisfied with the look... great advice.

I had locs from 2006-2018, cut them off end of 2018 and rocking short natural hair. Now I want microlocs, definitely would like more than 300

I have watched all of your videos. Just combed out my 4th set of locs using comb coils. I didn’t like them they were too big and now I’m about to starts microlocs today. My mom will be installing them. IM SO EXCITED!!!!!!

We already have locs. I'll be 3 years loced next month, and my daughter's microlocs will be 3years old in December. Fun fact: your first set of locs were my inspiration to get locs. I wanted mine that exact number and size. I ended up with about 240. My daughter's locs are more within the range of your new set. Thanks for inspiring 🙏🏾

This is super helpful. Mine were installed by someone else but the bottom row slipped out almost immediately because it’s so much looser than the top and this finally helped me reinstall them appropriately

Im in desperate search of a loctician who will be protective of my hair since I’ve taken sooooo much time and care in my own natural hair journey and I actually considered doing it myself but just know I don’t have the patience to accomplish the results I’d be looking for. I’m on my first set of locs. Surprised to see it’s been 5 months and I love my locs. I installed mine myself. I started with 2 strand twists so my hair shrank up a lot. I have 210 locs. i have tried 2 point and 4 point rotations for my reties. I hope to decide which retie method I will use going forward.

I adopted 2 AA girls and have learned how to do crochet installs, box braids, countless styles with braids and bands, by watching thousands of KZfaq videos but I think this would be stunning on one of the girls and would love to try. So, I have some questions for you: 1. Is it better when the hair is wet, damp or dry? 2. I saw you don’t use products in a comment, am I supposed to moisturize prior just not after done or not at all? 3: she has thin stranded 3C hair, is that strong enough for locs? I don’t want them to break off. Thank you so much for your videos and instructions!

When I got my sis locs, my hair had to be dry and stripped of all oils. This is good for parting. My loctician did use a spray bottle when needed. It consisted of tea tree oil, coconut oil, and mostly water. This also helped with parting. No oils should he used for moisturizing the first year or at least until they lock. If dry scalp occurs, the tea tree and coconut water oil is perfect.

I really want to do my own but I’m so scared of messing up the base/foundation I do not want my locs breaking off due to the base being too small for the loc 😩I’ll want to two strand twist them thou, I might give it a try I love micro locs 😭

I want microlocs with interlocing to start off, I tried previously with braided roots and then 2 strand twist but I started to experience unraveling and foreseen alot of bunching in my future so I combed them out😩 now I still have that yearn for them and planning to possibly do it myself

Beautiful commentary on SL & Micro locs😊 But please be careful out here when it comes to your SL , everyone is not out here for your good on your hair periodT. I let a girl In Hayward CA, name Kristin do my Sisterlock install- 🤦🏽‍♀️ she was awful to say the least and very unprofessional. I went to her for a couple of more months, but my gut told me to stop going to her. She did not know what she was doing. She did not do the Sisterlocs grid- she messed up my hair- and had the nerve to get upset because I stopped tipping her. In the meantime I was looking for a new sister Loctician ….and I actually reported her to Sisterlock foundation . I have a new lady now , in San Leandro California. She is amazing ! Some of these folks out here do not want to take care of your hair. They only want the money. And her attitude was definitely from the devil.. If you feel it in your gut, please do your research. Do not go to the first person you see! This is my second set of Sisterlocks. Soon I will be doing a channel myself regarding my Sisterlock journey. 😉 be safe out here folks when it comes to your hair!

I just started my second set of locs two days ago on Halloween. I did two-strand twists. I didn’t have the first set long (maybe 7 months) because it didn’t go as planned partially due to my not using the right product to establish them and retwist them, but I got a really product this time around and am so glad I finally have my second set installed cause I was so ready to start over. I’m so happy to be starting my loc journey again, on the right foot this time 😩😂😊

Heyy definitely make sure that you are braiding and banding or bunching and banding. That helps a lot. Also make sure to be very gentle when you are washing your locs.

You can also braid (plat) your locs that have a lot of slippage. The braided locs will not shrink as much as your 2 strand twist locs.
