Nothing, other than his God given talent, has ever been handed to Josh. I was at training camp his rookie year and the QBs were throwing towards us from the far end of the field. You couldn’t see who was throwing as the ball came out to the receiver, but it was always clear which ones were Josh’s throws. I will never forget the Minnesota game that season. And still the haters doubted. But I knew we had a winner when after his elbow injury sidelined him briefly, he was out on the field, standing behind the QBs during practice, taking notes. The coaches asked him what he was doing and he told them he was doing mental reps. He willed himself to success with his work ethic and that natural talent. I wish my Dad had lived long enough to have seen him play.

Don't forget the credit for the Bills organization and their system that allowed Josh to grow to where he is now (they made playoff with Tyrod Taylor and Josh as average QB in 2019) Had he been thrown to a more chaotic environment, well say the Bills about 10 years back, pretty sure the outcome would have been quite different for him.
@bfire

@@davidhatran3160 He went to a team that had the worst cap situation in the history of the NFL during his rookie season. He then was thrown into the fire as one of the rawest prospects in the history of the NFL and was willing a terrible team to wins against playoff teams. Josh would have exploded anywhere because he is that dude.
@davidhatran3160
@davidhatran3160 Жыл бұрын
@@bfire Bills in 2017, 2016, 2015 were not a terrible team, they were around the 8-8 mark. Josh was just an average QB with mid 50% accuracy in 2018 and 2019, with flashes of good run plays and bad plays as well (remember the play he threw the ball back and almost turned it over when he was rushing). If he was in a less forgiving environment or one with lots of coach turnovers (and changing schemes), I don't think he would have developed well. Also it's a team sports, even Brady couldn't do much without good receivers or not protected well.

Chris, You have become a favorite in Firebaugh! The question you asked Josh about lifting a bunch of weights was enlightening. Josh was lifting hard going into his senior year at Firebaugh HS. He was a hard gainer. His metabolism was super fast. Josh was not great because he lifted weights(weights are important), But he was great because he competed year-round in 3 sports. Josh was great because he wanted to compete, complete, and defeat our opponents. However, when we had Eagle Football Max Outs before his senior year, we put 135 lbs on the Olympic Bar and let each player Power Clean it as many times as they could. We had some studs. The coach who was running the event calls me and says "Coach I'll bet You are not going to guess who won the Power Clean max Outs!" I responded" How many reps did Isaac get? What about Leo? Dopey?Joseph?Anthony?" Then the coach said "Coach You owe me a Pizza Factory Pizza! It was Josh Allen! He got 90 + reps!" Dang that kid just keeps blowing our minds! Love Coach Mag!

Brady, Mahomes, Murray and now Allen are on record now stating how watching Rodgers made them all try different mechanics and change the way they think about throwing. How Josh really got to Buffalo is an amazing story 💯

It amazes me how many people will brag about Josh Allen knowing that nobody felt this way when he was drafted. And I say that as someone who was on board from day one, quite literally, and had to sift through negative comment after negative comment about how terrible of a draft pick he was. And just to preface this: If you were genuinely a fan of his from the beginning, go ahead and brag. You deserve it. I'm simply speaking to all those pretenders who only became fans of his when it was convenient. You know, the majority. And lastly, great interview by Simms! Josh Allen was so open and honest in this interview, and from that I learned a great deal about the game of football. He's clearly someone who puts massive amounts of time and energy into self-improvement, and it's paying off severely.

I'm right there with you. Even tho Allen had his bad moments in his first couple years I knew he was going to grow into a franchise QB for the Bills. My confidence in him never stopped and supported him from day 1. Let's go Buffalo. Allen will lead us to the promised land I truly believe that

Totally agree! I'm a Ravens fan. I love Lamar, but I have an equal respect for Josh Allen, and just the way he carries himself. He's truly a good human being, and one that clearly spends an inordinate amount of time and energy working on his flaws as a QB. I would be utterly shocked if the Bills didn't win their division this year. They have all the pieces necessary for making a serious run at the Super Bowl.

Something else that blew my mind. If you've never played a sport for extended time this is hard to grasp: how fast he developes muscle memory is unbelievable! To change so many minute as well as substantial adjustments in his mechanics and have his body just absorb it so fast really has me in awe

Great interview! Really well done. Also, thank you to Josh for showing that gym time isn't all that big of a deal. There are other methods to keep a strong body and stay healthy. I feel like lifting all the time actually hurts your body.

people are still doubting josh allen. after buffalo blew out the patriots in the playoffs, boston media still said the bills are not a good team and that they’d choose mac jones over josh allen. it took him going toe to toe with mahomes before nick wright said he was no longer going to slander him. skip bayless said he trusts baker mayfield over allen. and you have keyshawn johnson who is the president of the i hate josh allen fan club

This video is for everybody that claim Allen is good because of Diggs. Don't get me wrong, Diggs definitely helped Josh reach elite status in 2020, but Josh put in alot of work to get where he is. I'd be deathly shocked if he never wins a SB. LETS GO BUFFALO

LOVE YOU SIMMMMMSSS!!! You make this game so much more humanistic... keep going big dawg! You're bringing up the whole eco-system.. tide rising all boats. You're humble and self-aware approach to your pops; not losing sight of how special your "POV" growing up was- but also not being a douche bag about it- combined with some SERIOUS NERD OUT game ... just so dynamic. Sims + Cowherd + Florio = NFL needs to cut you guys into the damn equity split on the league! you guys are making the NFL shine.

I'm going to be the 1,284,673 person to say, Chris Simms, this is the damn best interview with ANYONE I've ever heard! ( And seen ) Great questions with great timing, yet letting him talk and comfort atmosphere, and on and on. Rocked it! Felt it. Edit: But Chris, unhook that top button on the shirt for interviews. Makes you look stuffy.

WoW!! To be able to actually pull off the release timing of your throwing motion is really hard to discipline yourself to do. I gotta see this in the coming season. Prior to this season I noticed that our receivers were incredibly acrobatic making the completions from Josh, but with this newly born throwing discipline what Josh has learned should give us so much better 2nd and 3rd down to 1st down conversions. Great interview!!!

While watching this I can’t help but think of Kyler Murray requiring 4hrs of study a wk in his contract. Not Franchise qbs are all created equal.

Allen watches football and film whenever and enjoys it. Murray had to have a clause in his contract making sure he studied. That's the difference between what makes a great QB and what will make a QB burn out of the league
