The idea of researching potential results of policy implies policy is based on intellect rather than written up by trade associations for subsidies, tax cuts and deregulation, lol.

Econometrics is the real data science. Because Econmists aim to discover the behavioral patterns in data. Most of the STEM fields, on the other hand, are only concerned with the codings that yield a predicted outcome and not the underlying behavioral patterns.

I agree with you and that’s the reason why l love econometrics but not economic theory hahaha
