"I want to do everything I can to win" sits out two most important outings of the season, closes championship window, a month before Seidlers death. This guy won't even pitch an extra inning to win, how on earth he claiming he'll "do everything to win." What a phoney. And this talk "I'm just trying to look out for my family" 😂😂😂 I didn't know "looking out for my family" was the new name for greed.

A game won in April and one more game won in May= Playoffs - Those back to back blown save & Loss vs STL were bad...the gut punch blown save vs LA May 7th really hurt the team.

Lol, y'all out here blaming him for the failure of the season. Padres ain't win games, simple as that. You gonna ask him to pitch 3 innings one day and 2 the next for at least a quarter of the season? That fucks up arms and ends careers.

Said this before, I'll say it again. Josh Hader's refusal to take on more innings was the deciding factor in missing the playoffs. 2-3 more wins and we were in. Instead, the D-Backs took that spot and ran with it. Can't even look at him, I'm so disgusted. Could've been the Pads in the WS, instead, Hader literally sat by as the BP tanked. Selfish

I had one overriding question, after he popped off: "why was the interview even necessary?" He got his money...the money that he was so hell-bent on earning, that he protected his arm in a way that pushed the team out of the way...and he ended up on a club that is built to contend year in, year out. So, the ONLY reason he did the interview, to my mind, was so that he could wipe his butt with the Padres in full view of anyone who cares about that kind of grudge. I was almost shocked...because no one can convince me that Bob Melvin nor Reuben Niebla, would treat him the way he claimed they did. No one. So, dude sat there and lied. For what?

The guy has $100 million on the line. No point in trying to get saves for a team that isn’t going to the playoffs anyway.

I wasn’t a fan of his. But, I feel like everyone is forgetting that it is a team sport. His perspective is that if you aren’t going to surround me with other pitchers/ mid relievers that are going to have us in a position to get me a save why should I pitch 2 or 3 innings to get us a win. I’m doing all the work from the pen. And from the pen holds and saves are what gets me paid. Offense example. If Manny or Tatis had the best batting average on the team and you put the 7 or 8 in the lineup you are costing them at bats and that hurts their value.

There was no love for Josh Hader in San Diego because he was only there a short time, no attachment grew. To be fair he was asking to be used exactly how Bruce Bochy used Trevor Hoffman. Hoffman was seldom if ever brought into a game in the 8th inning with Runners on and one or two outs to go. Hoffman was almost only brought in for the 9th inning with no one out and no one on. With only maybe a few exceptions he only started clean innings and usually pitched only one inning. He pitched very few innings in a season. We would sit there and watch the game and in the 8th inning with Runners on 2nd and 3rd and 2 out and the game on the line, Trevor Hoffman would never be brought in. And whether the Padres won or lost no one questioned Hoffman, not even warming up in the 8th inning. I don't know what kind of person Josh Hader is but as far as not pitching more than one inning, you need look no further than the GREAT Trevor Hoffman for a one inning pitcher. The big difference is, you're not allowed to question how Trevor was used. I know everyone does it but I can't tell you how many times Trevor was brought in and the Padres had a three-run lead and he swooped in for that cheap save. Like I said I know it's done with other closers. That's why none of the modern-day closers can hold a candle to Mariano Rivera, who would pitch 1 + Innings or 2 + innings whatever it took. Anyone who says Trevor Hoffman wasn't babied by being brought in under only ideal circumstances either never saw him pitch or just isn't being honest.

Hopefully the Padres realize there are 29 others teams in the league and will build a team that can compete with them. Building your team to just win against the Dodgers is a dumb way to build a team...

I blame the Brewers for being so cheap and making Josh hater think this way. It was known when he got to San Diego about the arbitration process with the brewers, it was very public. Still with the context I'm not really big on how he approached thr game. I'm curious if he'll pitch multiple innings now that he secured a big contract.

Lol yeah and if he blew his arm out you guys would say a prayer and move on from him. You expect him to risk his health for your team. Think about that. You're not the ones who would have to have surgery and rehab. You talk on the radio. He is the one who has to look out for himself and by doing that he has you once again on the radio judging him for not pushing it to the limit of injury. That is sad.

Getting injuries happens when you do sports like that. Thats especially why people get paid like they do in sports. He is one of the best closers. We expect me to perform and help us. There is nothing wrong with that. He was better off not opening his mouth at all.
