Kirkwood is part of STL, it's actually as close as it gets to being ine of 4 inner suburbs of the city. My grandfather lived in Kirkwood. Visited him all the time growing up, there. It's still considered STL. Outside is Chesterfield, St. Charles, going West. Kirkwood is known to being inner suburb. Nice area of STL.
