My husband made rules for himself like not being alone with a woman other than family, never eating with a non-family woman. Women who criticized him for it were often surprised and comforted when he explained to them that he was protecting our marriage and family and his relationship with God. It was refreshing to them to think of men actually being faithful.

I am 78 and listened to Ravi for several years . His teachings were so helpful in my spiritual growth but trying to grasp what he has done has saddened me to my depths. But it hasn’t diminished my faith in Jesus at all. Just praying for everyone involved in this scandal.

Never put anyone on a pedestal. Stay ever so close to Jesus. We must pray for protection constantly from the enemy. Stay so close to Jesus.

I remember many years ago, when he was probably in his 30's, Josh McDowell saying to young girls during one of his meetings, "If a boy says to you, 'If you really love me then you will let me'; you say back to him, 'If you truly loved me then you wouldn't even ask me that'." I thought that was one of the most powerful things I had ever heard and still do to this day. Every church should have had him talk to their youth.

This is a good lesson for me to spend more time in my actual Bible, and not so much listening to a certain pastor or preacher.

I love Josh McDowell. I'm in my 50s but when I was in my 20s I was in college. I had a public speaking course and I did a speech on the book Evidence that Demands a Verdict. I just remember after reading it how great it was to know that my faith isn't blind but is based on evidence. It really helped me. Later in life, I fell away and starting drinking. I came back again and am dedicated to Christ. I think having the foundation of having read things like Josh's book probably helped keep me from completely abandoning my faith. Sorry my comment isn't related to Ravi but I just felt inspired to share my love for Josh.. :)

My heart goes out to his family.

When I hear rape described as "sexual misconduct" then it tells me that there is something wrong. Rape is nothing less than violent criminal activity which can totally ruin the victim's life. The term " sexual misconduct" is a slap in the face to any victim of rape.

I love how he explained things.."God's word will not return void.." My faith is not shaken but saddened about the truth. I'm not here to judge because I'm a sinner as welI.And I believe that at the end of the day it's between me and God always. Pastors are the instruments that God uses to know HIM but it's our responsibility to pursue and to get to know HIM better. Just fix our eyes on HIM despite how the enemy works so hard to win the world.

My teenage son and I enjoyed the radio ministry of Ravi. This was a way for us to grow together as we listened together. He was so thorough and intelligent, and passionate. I am glad for the reminder that the good news is that the Good News goes forward. Jesus is the Savior and God's word does not return void!

I so appreciate both Josh and Sean, how gracious they are discussing something so tragic, painful and heartbreaking. My hope and prayer are for all his victims, especially Ravi’s wife, children, and those in his ministry that are just as shocked as so many of us were and still are. His victims were not only physically abused, but mentally, emotionally, and most tragically spiritually abused. It will take years of therapy for them to heal. I pray they turn to God for that healing and will be able to forgive him.

As an abuse survivor and abuse advocate, this was the best conversation I have ever heard on this matter. It is challenging to find ministries and preachers I can recommend that understand abuse from the victims viewpoint and leaders who have integrity and accountability. Thank you Josh for your transparency and your vulnerability with your story. Thank you both for your ministry and your obvious love for each other. Every survivor should watch this. Everyone in leadership should watch this. I will be profusely sharing this. God bless you both.

I may be late. It really hurts as to what had happened. Let me give my firsthand experience and what happened. First, I really like Sean and Josh, they've been like the best role models for me. I am hoping that one day, my family would see light like I have. When Sean and Josh went to Manila, I really went to the conference and wrote almost every pointers they gave. So with the topic. My first hand experience was my father. He was a pastor and showed me how to read the bible correctly, taught me a lot of parables and all. He was a great pastor. We even went to the Middle East as a family to build a church there. I will not disclose where, but it is still there. My father fell to adultery. When that happened, I back slided. I became agnostic. I hated the ministry. Because it wasn't just the family that was broken, my faith slowly was broken, then we realised I can't finish the university too, during that year, 2011, I severed myself from my Christian friends. I started to do all kinds of stuff. I was depressed and every time I'm reminded of God, I would curse Him. Cutting the story short, I started working as an undergraduate student. Met a lot of people who led me more to sin. But there was this one moment I saw Sean on youtube around 2017. It was a message for people who has a broken family. I slowly understood it. But I still continued on my sins. It was kind of a turning point too! I started checking out other religions and sectors. Cutting it short again, 2018, I met someone whom I was inviting over to drink and fool around, she instead invited me to church. I realised myself that I was just scared to face God to have Him say that I was wrong the whole time. And now, I'm back. I'm singing with a choir in our local church. I have this urge to lead people too. It's true that if God wants you back, He will get you back. I was wrong the whole time. I hope, for those who were relying financially from Ravi's Ministry, and was looking up to Ravi, snap out of their misery if they were. God uses all opportunities to teach us. He can even let a rock preach the gospel if He wanted too. Let's look to Christ, not the messenger. Always remember, Christ saved us, not the messenger. Up till present, my father hasn't repented, he won't apologise too. The Bible taught me not to dwell in it. God taught me a lot of things when I was lost. Right now, all I can say is I love God. P.S. I may be a gaming channel, but I'm thinking of changing it to my personal channel posting things that is for the Kingdom of God.

It is extremely hard and it’s extremely important that wrong gets exposed. It was awful to watch some trying to salvage Ravi’s “ministry” empire as the most important thing for even a couple of years after Ravi’s death. This was a precious and transparent interview with these two men of God. Thank you Sean.

I just wanna say 2 things: 1) It's one of the most beautiful testimonies in the Church to see father and son like this. I think a lot of us envy you, Sean. Well, and your dad for having such God fearing son. 2) The telltale signs. I completely agree. I've seen so many leadership boards and meetings where you could taste the discomfort because of the leader's behavior, lifestyle or words, yet no one, not a single person stood up to confront them. I've been approached by a lot of these people sharing their concerns, yet even when I felt the need to stand up and confront these leaders, nobody had the courage and sincerity to stand with me. People take leadership positions super lightly and in my journey I've found a huge lack of accountability. I think it's very scary. Everyone is busy "building the Kingdom" with no time to invest in checking on people, neither to encourage nor to question. It saddens me a lot. The Lord bless and keep and multiply such godly men like you two. 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️

This was so respectfully handled. Thank you for sharing your story of horrific abuse. Just breaks my heart that children have to endure and experience this terrible evil. Since the Ravi scandal broke I have been somewhat dumbfounded. My faith in the Lord is never shaken, but am so confused as to how easily I trusted this man. I honestly believed I was so much more discerning than this and it worries me how easily I may believe wrong teaching in the future. Especially in these times when we are warned about a great deception coming over the world.

There is no such thing as a private moment, all is laid bare before the Holy eyes of God. He is our Audience of One. I'm so thankful for my husband who practiced the advice Josh gave.

Man is defiled even at his best. Our confidence must be in Jesus Christ and in His eternal Word, and let no man shake your confidence in that.

I have many mistakes in my life, and one of them was to be in the car alone, and in the home alone, with our pretty young nanny. When our daughter was about 7 years old my wife (out of the blue!) asked for a divorce. She thought I was having a relationship with our nanny. I can understand why. I have feet of clay, but was I ever happy to tell her that I never touched the nanny with one finger. Please go downstairs and wake her up and ask her tight now. At times like this I was so glad that I stayed pure in this area. We're still together today, and the nanny is gone.

The only wise, mature, humble and godly opinion that I heard on Ravi’s case. Thanks brothers.

I am a medical doctor, but I don't like people calling me doctor. I want to be known for who I am, not what I do. The Lord gave me the call and ability to be a doctor and the glory goes to Him. I met Josh years ago and found him to be one of the most genuine people I know.

Sean - Thank you for this interview with your Dad. It was excellent. My heart is broken for Ravi's wife and family . . . and these poor victims. The Bible says that David was a man after God's own heart and look what he did! Adultery, planned murder! I'm thankful the Bible is not sugar-coated but tells openly the sinfulness of man - and how we need to guard our hearts EVERY day! And - how we need to confront one another as brothers and sisters in Christ and speak up . . . and hopefully avoid falling into sin. I'm also SO very thankful for a forgiving, loving God. I really do believe that God took Ravi home early. The Bible talks about this.

When i was in college in the early 70s, Josh spoke to a church youth group on a Friday night in downtown Greeley, Colorado. Just a dozen or two were there bu Josh put his heart and soul into that like with a big crowd. Then he wanted to go with me the next day antque hunting on our farm and in a shop in the small town of Ault, CO. We visited for a while with my mom and dad in their home. Josh signed a copy of his new book with the red cover EVIDENCE THAT DEMANDS A VERDICT. We still have that book with Josh's signature in it and my farmer dad always cherished it. Thanks Josh for being the real desl. Your talks on the resurrection at a college Crusade conference at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Denver in about 1971 really helped solidify my faith. I returned to my dorm at NJC in Sterling and played thise tspes over and over for myself and to others. I may still have them. Thanks.

From Montana and I have considered it great joy to be able to follow both of these men (apologists) in their ministry. I have seen them both, had the extreme privilege of chatting with them, read and listened as a shark follows a blood trail. Having said this, I gained such an appreciation for the McDowell's (both father and son) for sharing this and answering questions that have bothered me. The standout remark made by Brother Josh had to be that "God does not need us... He desires us". Thank you for this presentation.

Ravi was a large part of my understanding and development of my faith in Christ. I had so many questions and he always pointed me to Jesus in the most profound way. But he was a man, and a deeply flawed, troubled man at that. Though he so elequently pointed to The Truth in his books and lectures, he is certainly not the only one. I can not bring myself to continue to utilize his resources in my studies. His lies and extreme sexual immorality have tarnished that beyond repair. So incredibly sad. Praying for his victims, his family, and praying that he sought forgiveness for his sins. ❤️

I spent nearly 20 years traveling as a singer/songwriting hocking my wares and singing my songs in universities, churches, and coffee houses for whatever folks could afford to pay! In all seriousness, I read Josh McDowell books and attended his engagements in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Thanks for getting your dad’s take on the tragedy of one of his contemporaries. Thank you, so much. This has really helped me. It’s so unfathomable, just hearing you both talk it out has helped me process the facts.

I looked up to Ravi and learned a lot from his books, preaching and presentations. Amazing insights, a great communicator and philosopher who helped me with many of my doubts/questions as a young, maturing Christian. As a matter of fact, I was distraught to learn he had cancer and was essentially on his death bed, and was upset and mad God allowed it. Cried out to God on Ravi's behalf. At the time, from my standpoint, here was a man who sacrificed so much with his time and relationships with family to serve God all over the world and was in harm's way on many occasions....totally sold out to Christ. Then the truth of Ravi's sin and failures came to light and God taught me a number of good lessons (some covered by the McDowell's): 1. God knows all, God is Holy, God will make all things right, God is worthy of our trust: we don't, can't, and aren't 2. God uses sinful man to do His work and accomplish His will (one of His greatest miracles): Ravi was guilty of grevious sins, but we all sin as Christians. Not an excuse, but a reminder that we need to be humble, gracious and kind as we reflect on Ravi's life, legacy, family, and many others who've fallen so greatly. Flip side, don't wait to serve God until you're perfect, won't happen this side of heaven. 3. Accountability, and checks and balances are needed and should be welcomed to help prevent unhealthy lives, relationships, and ministries so we don't ultimately don't misrepresent Jesus and comprise our testimony of Jesus. 4. We have an enemy who wants to kill, steal, and destroy and he has a whole army working against Jesus and His followers: we need to keep our relationship with Jesus and each other as strong as possible, in Him, we have the victory. Again, stay humble and be gracious and help each other out when failures come. 5. Don't fall for the "cult of personality" where individuals are put on a pedestal and portrayed as if they can do no wrong and we become their "fans" and "followers" and all that entails (idol worship): besides being sinful, they're not worthy and we'll be disappointed. This seems to be a common strategy of the enemy that can do a lot of damage to the idol and the worshipper. Thanks McDowells for all you do to help the body of Christ! I appreciate your videos and still use the New Evidence that Demands a Verdict, another book that was instrumental to helping me thru questions/doubts.

I was raised in a Christian home and went to church claiming to be saved yet lived a terrible wicked life for over 20 years. I only came to true repentance with godly sorrow two years ago some people would say i was not worthy of forgiveness because i lived a double life so long. Well in a way it wasnt double because people knew i was being immoral.

During my graduation at Dallas Theological Seminary in 2005, Dr. Josh McDowell was the speaker. I expected him to speak on 'Apologetics', but, he spoke on 'family'.

I am so thankful that you interviewed your Dad. Great interview. I am 76 & enjoyed every teaching of Ravi & was so shaken by what he did, it was very interesting to hear your Dad's thoughts on the matter. I cannot imagine the hell that his family went through possibly still going through same for all his victims.

Once when I was praying through being disappointed by some people who had taught me most of what I know, the Lord said to me clearly, "The truth of a lesson does not depend on the teacher's ability to carry it out." I think that may be helpful for people suffering from this revelation of Ravi's sin.

What a blessing to hear Josh McDowell again! My first job out of high school was with Campus Crusade in 1974, which is where I learned of you and your ministry. Wonderful words of wisdom!

I remember meeting your dad Josh on a cruise with my wife (it was a Christian cruise many years ago). Josh was one of the speakers. He invited us to sit at his table for a few minutes and we spoke about some pretty legit stuff concerning some "dad issues". He had some great wisdom, insight, and advice.

Josh McDowell has certainly helped me in my walk with Christ. The last couple of years, I tuned in to Ravi Zacharias here on KZfaq. I found him to be fresh air. The revelations have been painful, but the pain I feel is for his victims and the damage done to young christians who were drawn to Christ by his ministry. Thanks for this video.

As a Christian I have failed probably in ways I don't even know. Our sin nature is so deep and deceptive that we seem to be able to justify anything. What happened is a warning to us all. I have read East to West and believe that Ravi is with the Lord.

Josh, my family and myself were so honored to meet you at Camp of the Woods in Speculator, NY. One of the highlights of our children’s, who are adults now, experience at Camp was when you came down to the beach area to speak directly with young people. So thankful for this broadcast to help work through this disturbing situation. I really looked up to Ravi as I learned so much from his Christian ministry. Thankful that my faith is built on Jesus, my blessed hope, and no one else.

This video and Mike Winger's at bible thinker are by far the 2 best videos regardi g this heartbreaking issue/topic. On a secondary note when y'all were discussing the name change of JMM, the simple answer in my mind is brand recognition. As a lay person I hear the name Josh McDowell and there is a level or trust that has been established due to reputation.
