there’s some slight analog delay, and a compressor with very high attack, a good amount of reverb and humbuckers are essential

this guy is an amazing guitarist ! but Why did he put this delay ! it's too much !
@Yngsatchvai3 жыл бұрын
With just an accompanying nylon string it fills up the sound a little. I like it..
@DrJoshGuitar3 жыл бұрын
I kind of agree, it isn't necessary in my opinion. I think people add too much delay when they aren't fully confident in their playing - which is silly in this situation since he such a great player. But at the end of the day, it is a matter of choice. Not my thing though. A tiny bit of slap back sounds good, but when it competes with the played notes, it takes away from the playing IMO
@camgreer3 жыл бұрын
I wasn't going to say anything about it, but.... Well, I think they know what they're doing, so I'll accept it.
@zapantalambda2 жыл бұрын
I think he is trying to replicate the guitar sound of old Cumbia music. or maybe he wanted to sound like Khruangbin band.
@biscobisco18822 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say the slapback competes with the played notes at all - it's pretty obvious what's being picked. Shawn Lane had a very similar tone approach, it's just a fusion thing.
@kalisodia113 жыл бұрын

@@biscobisco1882 delay, reverb and compression...got that?
@biscobisco18822 жыл бұрын
@@sixstring4 So completely standard effects for a typical fusion tone then? How is that 'heavy' processing when the vast majority of live electric guitarists would have those pedals in their board? FFS you make it sound like he's using a whammy pedal, octavers, or a guitar synth.
@sixstring42 жыл бұрын
@@biscobisco1882 vast majority? It depends who you listen to. Where I come from when you play a jazz classics like this you don't drench your playing in effects, but to each his own...if you're impressed with fast riffing "fusion" playing good for you...not my cup of tea..I just hope he makes it out of Sydney and plays with notable artists.
