YES, OMG THIS!! I'm bawling my eyes out watching you guys make this seismic shift. We're an Aussie couple in our 50's planning our 7 month Europe trip and your video and message resonate so strongly with us. At 100 km/day we can "enjoy more places" but at 50 km/day we can "enjoy places more". We've watched hundreds of bikepacking videos as part of our planning. Yours will stay with me more than anything else I've seen. Thank you both.

Thank you so much! I really love that, enjoy more places or enjoy places more. I definitely resonate more with the latter. Good luck with all the prep for your trip. 7 months of riding will be truly amazing! Glad our videos can inspire you along the way 🚲

My 1st wife bagged Munros with me which took us all over the Highlands. When she passed, I was done chasing summits. There is far more to mountains than their summits. Going up mountains is only part of being among them. This epiphany feels rather like yours: freeing. In the end, we just want our souls to be set free. Ride free.

No matter how much you ever see and experience you never even scratch the surface. I discovered years ago that the world is like an onion. You get to know an area intimately and eventually learn there is even MORE under the surface. Last year I ventured a dozen miles north of Oban with my dog and little caravan. Hundreds of miles from home. An area I last visited nearly 60 years ago. We walked for miles and revisited places from all that time ago. Many changes, incredible beauty, amazing food. My rescue dog ran, swam, sniffed, scoffed and snored the nights away. Bliss.

Fantastic video.....again. You captured the feel of your surroundings superbly and I was completely drawn into your adventure. Making the Scottish Highlands enthralling at this time of year is a unique talent. It's also great to see 2 dedicated cyclists realise that a small area explored slowly can be rewarding ...in my area, every cyclist seems to be hellbent on knocking huge distances out in the shortest time on every trip without any concern to their environment, wildlife or other road users. You are superb ambassadors for responsible cyclists and should be acknowledged by the wider cycling audience. Kind regards and best wishes

Your storytelling is second to none. I feel inspired to create, to live life slowly and beautifully. Loved this as we were in the same area in September with our bikes. We completed the Outer Loop in 2017 but abandoned the idea of the inner loop (which I think was your plan) given how tough the outer loop was (we were camping) Following your narration I was jumping up and down knowing it was Ryvoan you were headed to, we past it on an exquisite loop ride and came out at the turquoise lake in September. We had to walk back up the next day for a swim. I also know the area you live as my parents live in Penrith. We have exactly the dilemma of having to make the plan, or take time out to explore, admire the view, swim in the lake, knit on a rock. everybody emphasises distance and speed, we will join your slow is ok vibe, whilst trying to make more time for adventures. Thank you for your gentle laid back interesting commentary.

It is a beautiful place to explore especially on the bike. I think we discovered the hard way that it's a better route for dryer conditions and without a tight time schedule. It is a really cool bothy isn't it. Ah yes Penrith is near our neck of the woods. I think we're finding that our pace is slower so we can take more in. A much better way to truly experience a place🚲

amazing adventure! but even more impressive how you two are growing both as individuals and as a couple! life and experiences change and it's just natural that after a certain amount of fulfilling a certain kind of dream, it shapes us makes us kind of evolve. in this particular case i seriously believe that your shift to a slower pace is a completely normal progression - not regretting the more taxing, exhilarating style but outgrowing it as you go and mature, finding and refining your focus. may you go on many more adventures (and share them with us too pls 😊) ❤

A fantastic video from Josh & Sarah Rides. You had your epiphany at 12mins 49secs and I listened to your wonderful words ... We stood in the rain feeling very torn, deliberating what to do ... It was the landscape that made us happy, the meetings along the trail and the smaller details you only notice when you slow down. The plan is to go slow. These places are too beautiful to rush. In this beautiful world filled with intricacies and details You experience so much more of it if you slow down. Glen Feshie is going through a process of rewilding. I think both of you are going through your own rewilding. I look forward to what comes next...'Iongantach'.
