I can't help but play Maiden with my drumming perspective. I try to capture a lot of the things that discerning drummers may hope I catch but also leave room for improv.

Incredible work. The bridge section of ROTAM from 5:37 on is amazing. This is where the drummer must keep very tight time to back the band. Amazing timing here and brilliant overall...thank you for sharing!

Clive was more punchy, precise and driving. Nicko was better technically but he was all over the place and never played a song the same twice. Not in a bad way But personally i prefer Clive

Fuck yeah, you killed it on this one. Takes me back to the days of cassette tapes and 'boom boxes', haha. Double bass parts added a bit of thrash flavor and were fit in there tastefully. Well done.

Been returning to this and many other of your vids on and off for years man, this is probably still my favourite medley you've done. The arrangement and overall phrasing throughout is fantastic, and that final part was genius the way you brought Rime back into the mix as an outro. ah ah ah,no double bass allowed,only single bass drum allowed josh...just kidding brother,fantastic work on my favorite metal album of all time,nicko was my biggest influence ever,and the main reason i started playing drums,it took me almost 2 yrs to learn and duplicate what nicko did on that stellar,metal,masterpiece!!! it will live on forever,peace my friend.

Hey Josh. I really appreciate your work and this has become one of my favourites. At first I wanted to say how awesome were some parts but in the end, whole 14 minutes were awesome, I had to rewatch some parts a few times. It takes some time to get used to the double bass but it is just a matter of taste and you do it very well! Thanks again from Slovakia :)

Ah of course, what makes this video even better is that you put your own style (That is beautiful btw) on the parts needed. And i'm watching the SOAD medley. You really should put a mp3 for download. +Josh Steffen I know you don't like the whole Nicko circlejerk and you find his triplet-style drumming repetitive, but you've gonna to appreciate how a lot of his fills are. And he has the occasional song like These Colours Don't Run that are just much more complex than Aces High or something is.

Very awesome cover medley of one the finest Iron Maiden albums of all time. Regularless if played with the double bass or not, using your own musical skills and talents are what matters to rock out any cover songs. It makes it exciting and very interesting to watch. Plus being a drummer that uses their brain and improvising instead of play the tracks verbatim is what sets drummers like you apart from amateurs. Watching you drum always keeps me wondering what you are going to throw in next. Many congratulations on all your covers. Keep it up and don't listen to mindless fools who don't know anything about being a true musician.
