On Thursday, Joshua Bassett dropped his new single and the accompanying music video for ‘Lie Lie Lie.’ Now, fans are speculating that the whole thing is the ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ star’s response to his rumored ex and co-star Olivia Rodrigo’s new song, ‘Drivers License,’ which fans theorize is about their alleged split and his reported new girlfriend, Sabrina Carpenter. The release of ‘Lie Lie Lie’ comes just hours after the 20-year-old singer revealed on Instagram that he’s been hospitalized. Bassett shared that after experiencing ‘the worst pain of my life,’ he went in for surgery. He also assured fans he is not dealing with COVID-19

THE SONG COULD BE ABOUT THEIR PAST FIGHTS BEFORE THEY BROKE UP. ALL OF OLIVIA'S FRIENDS KNOW ABOUT THEM JUST LIKE IN DL. UNTIL IT GETS TO THE POINT THAT THEY BROKE UP IN MID 2020.

They were a thing in 2019 but starting in the summer they were off and stopped showing each other. Later on they came out with sad songs about heartbreaks

@@pauie4314 YES. 2019 Sabrina started to notice Josh, there is actually a clip about Josh being excited when the host informed him that Sab was there at the event and you can search it up on youtube. Then they broke up in mid 2020, June/July when Sab and Josh were spotted hanging out togeher and DL was made in August 2020. These people can not make connections, they are too afraid to face the possibility that Jolivia was real.

But just because this is not a response doesn't it 100% close the possibility of it being about Olivia since A LOT of the lyrics and scenes connected to DL. I can not prove this right and you can not prove this wrong, my point is just be open minded and take into consideration every possible logical explanation of the connections between the two songs. Also, a photographer leaked her conversation with Joshua and she said the ex Josh was talking about is Olivia and it's all over Tiktok. I don't believe it 100% but take it into consideration.

Glad that Entertainment Tonight is the only news source that doesn’t assume that the songs of ‘drivers license’ and ‘Lie, Lie, Lie’ is not about the rumored drama and rumored relationship. And if anyone thinks that, you’re making the fandom toxic as well as not even be deserving to be fans. Can we all just appreciate two really good songs and don’t dwell into someone else’s personal relationships that may or may not be real? Period. I don’t care if there’s a lot of proof that a love triangle is happening. Seriously, ‘drivers license’ and ‘Lie, Lie, Lie’ are really good songs that deserved to be equally appreciated without the intention of finding a backstory to what or who the song is about.

*PROOF* lie lie lie song isnt about her. he posted it in Nov 8 2019. theyre been good friends see their interviews of hsmtmts and theyre both go to a concert together (ariana grande sweetener tour concert Dec 22 2019) and also he hug her on her birthday (feb 20 2020.)
