I’m not gonna lie I’m always a little peeved every time someone brings up this Graham quote they tend to cut out the part about love being what saved him In the dlc Graham’s anger towards the legion projects itself onto the white legs which inevitabley shows off how that brutal anger can paint the perspectives of those around you like the sorrows and dead horses and mold their culture into either one of fairness and righteousness of self defense or if Joshua brutally executed the white legs they become a more savage and brutal tribe In fallout society of past is dead and morals have degraded to an eat or be eaten level of savagery but in my personal opinion the only way to attempt to break from this return to the archaic nature of violence and savagery is compassion, fairness, and respect for your fellow person that can mend the irradiated ruin of the world

I feel like Joshua Graham is one of the best representations of a realistic born-again Christian, never overly pushy with his belief and respects the belief of others. @@lavellelee5734 You shouldn't despise religion, you should be wary of it. But absolutely despise churches/temples/mosques/houses of worship. Having a belief system, even a doctrine, isn't automatically a bad thing. But using faith and doctrine to organise for power/money almost always is.

@astrovarius543
@astrovarius543 Жыл бұрын
@@lavellelee5734 I honestly and truly believe you're overstating how zealous people with religious belief are in general. I won't tell you fanatics don't exist, because I'm not a fool or liar, but most people of faith live normal lives as normal people with the moral principles of their belief system only an undercurrent influencing their choices. Given that western society and culture were founded largely on Christian social principals (and still share many of these principals we take for granted and recognise these days as common human decency), I don't think having people walk around with Christian principals guiding them is going to be terribly destructive to civilisation or social cohesion. I cannot say the same for all religions, some obviously do not promote the same social cohesion and so produce fewer desirable results. In fact that has been a big part of why Christianity spread so fast, but now that social principals promoting the same or better social cohesion have largely developed beyond the need for religious backing, and such information is now globally available, the spread of Christianity has slowed massively. All this said, I'm not a Christian or anything else for that matter. I'm just more interesting in seeing the bigger picture for what it is, rather than focusing only on what I want to see. Also, I don't think you can assuredly claim that people who develop a belief system aren't growing. I know you mean a religious belief system and not just any belief system. But if the lessons are beneficial and the guiding principles promote social cohesion, does it matter if the belief system is spiritual in nature or not? In fact, many spiritual belief systems explicitly encourage personal growth. So Idk, some things maybe not as lop-sided as you might think?

This is why Joshua Graham is a more loved character than Cait, Cait experienced hardship and dragged herself out of misery by abusing substances and fighting everyone in her way. But she doesn’t thank those who helped her. She doesn’t believe that generosity is necessary, let the others go through what she had. And why her character become so much more fascinating when it then follows in Graham’s shoes, when she realizes that the point of going through hardship is not to say you survived… It’s to survive and then make sure that someone else may not have to suffer the way you have. To ultimately, in your own misery, make the world a better place, not for yourself, but for all. Just a tangent I thought of.

I've lived with depression due to trauma for over a decade now, and I've gotten REALLY good at being strong, and maintaining my mental state even when I can't be strong anymore. Depression as bad as I have it is too strong to out-will, but I will try each and every time. Right now it's been 2 years since I had a major low, due no doubt at least in part to finding my lover. I remembered some details of my first trauma a few days ago, and apparently, I'm still not past it... You'd understand if you knew. I right now see myself approaching the precipice of a low. I know it'll suck just as bad as it ever has, but I know FOR A FACT that as low as it can go, I can survive. I've hit robk bottom before; that endless void of emotions where nothing is felt at all; tastes barely detected, nothing but void, which is somehow even worse than the depression before. It's a sensation worse than any other, and when it occured it lasted for _weeks. straight._ I survived that against all odds. I know I can again, and I know that all the depression between here and there sucks worse than any sentient being should ever have to endure, but I KNOW for A FACT that I can take those flames and come out Stronger. I've done it all before, I CAN DO IT AGAIN. I don't know if I'm actually on the precipice of a Low yet, but if I am... BRING. IT. ON. I know I haven't "beaten" depression. There is no Cure to depression. No amount of willpower will stop a low from coming. Thing is, for the first time in 12 years and counting, I can fight, and I can Win. I can lie down and take all the blows depression can rend at my soul, AND I KNOW MY SOUL CAN TAKE IT. I am emotionally, mentally, stronger than any sentient being should ever have to be. But I know now that I will NEVER die to depression. I will always get back up. Because the fire that burns within is FAR brighter than the fire without. I have my path to life set before me, and I think I'll love it. Depression may cobble me, but those legs have healed from worse. I CAN DO THIS. BRING IT.

Alot of times when i think too much about my life i go into a sort of panic attack which makes me feel like i cant get any air while being irrationality agressive. Ive realized long ago that the only way for me to survive is to beat it back. I mean, if someone punches me, i punch back. If life punches me, im gonna spit into its face, and become a beast that it cant beat down anymore. I realized, that im way too angry to lay down and die, and let my shitty fate have its way with me. This is what my fire looks like. Its the spite against my own mind and my life itself, that fans the flames in me. I REFUSE to let Life toss me around like a punk, and I Refuse to let it do so to those close to me. Life is a Dishonourable Asshole, and i refuse to let something like that fucking win. We all fight against the same enemy, so i say Lets give it the fight it wants. IF IT WANTS SOME, WE GIVE IT SOME! Wether it be through faith like joshua, or through internal spite and rage like me, Lets fuck shit up!

@@clockmaker9273 Aggression is an emotional response to pain, so be careful giving in to rage, as eventually that too will consume you if you aren't careful Abger is a reaction, not an emotion, and once you're ready to face your trauma, you'll have to cast aside rage and face the ineffible horridness head on. With my Void, It was VERY clear when it began and ended. No emotion ever occured within it, NOT. A. DROP. I'm glad it was not that potent for you, though I understand how not realizing it could be worse. Depression isn't a fate I'd wish on ANYONE. No sentient being, no matter how ruthless, deserves this fate, these emotional agonies ineffible. The reason i love joshua is because he is much like biblical characters, he is very flawed and has done terrible things in the past, he had sinned, as his sins keep him humble, but he can't just kill off his vices and still stumbles when trying to walk with god. Israel means "those who struggle with god", not "the perfect followers of god".

The man has a point. There are times when we fall, sometimes every day, but as long as we get back up again, it isn't over. But sometimes we need to fall in the first place, to see what consequences our actions have had, and to see what we've been missing out on. What we could have done differently. Sometimes, to see the true beauty of this world, you just need to stop and look around. Find that light in the darkness, and seize it. Only then, can we leave the world a better place than we found it. Only then can we exact revenge on those who have wronged us, and destroy everything important to them. Every day I take time to feel the warmth and love of the sun, knowing that it is always here to guide me, love me, and help me in my hour of need when I finally have the chance to brutalize my enemies, to crush their spirits and maim their bodies, so that they may never walk again. Amen Joshua Graham, thank you for giving me the courage and strength I needed to eradicate all who oppose me. God Bless. ...something tells me I may have misunderstood his message.

If anyone wants the script for this, here ya go. Of Course. I want to take from them what they took from me, from my family. In this life, I want them to suffer. I want all of them to die in fear and pain. And I want to have my revenge against him. Against Ceaser. I want to call it my own, to make my anger God's anger. To justify the things I've done. Sometimes I tell myself that these wildfires never stop burning, but I'm the one who starts them. Not God. Not them. I can always see it in my mind, the warmth and the heat. It will always be a part of me... But not today. Everyday, some days are... harder than others, it never stops burning. My skin. Everyday I have to unwind the bandages and replace them with fresh ones. Exposing my body to the air is like living through it again, but its better to be clean than comfortable. I survived because the fire inside burned brighter than the fire around me. I fell down into that dark chasm, but the flame burned on and on. The next morning I woke up and crawled out of northern edge of the Grand Canyon, that cursed place. It took me 3 months to reach New Canaan. It was as though the prodigal son had returned and welcomed me like I had never left... never done anything to shame them. The fire that had kept me alive, was love. Their love. God's love. I will never be able to repay the debt I owe to them, but I must try. In a world filled with misery and uncertainty, it is a great comfort to know that in the end, there is light in the darkness. Everyday we move closer to our judgement, we must do our best to walk in the footsteps of our lord and teach others how to do the same. For many of us the road is a difficult one, but the path is always there for us to follow. No matter how many times we may fall. God be with you.

God is always with us, every second of every day till we die, we will ever be abandoned. 3 things are immortal: Hope, Faith and Love. All these are from God, eternal life is yours for the taking if you wish. The price of admission was paid in blood, Jesus Christ’s gift is yours. Reach out to the light, the kingdom of God will never perish. You are more precious than you’ll ever know. My brothers, my sisters. I love you all. Amén.

It's strange the only person to make me see the light of God, was in a video game a man broken a man tortured a man you saved himself, and still drives to fix his mistakes. This man showed me that a church is just a place where money goes to die, where faith is faked, true faith, true life are things you must fight for not go to in luxury.
