'Blues In The Closet' was one of my early Real Book favs - great groove, & a fun blues alternate for varying sets. Thanks for this great post of a smokin' qt.

What the hell, this lineup is ridiculous

I much prefer Arnett Cobb's approach to this tune. Less is better for me. Solos with space and an economy of notes and rhythms do it for me.

Sorry I don't think I like the drummer 😅, I want him to say something

Wow he's on a metal Mouth Piece, surprisingly fat and Darker sound.

Joshua has gone from a number of mouthpieces throughout his career. I've seen him using mainly Otto Link, in metal (maybe Super Tone Master) and hard rubber (Early Babbit), varying from ligatures like Otto Link metal classic ligature (the one he is using in this very video), Selmer, Ishimori and Francois Louis. Regardless of the gear, his skills have always been amazing.

I think this is a super rare Gale metal piece--it looks like a Link but isn't, he used it for a short while. He sounds great on his DR Link now...but his early 9* Florida was perhaps my favorite.
