TBS really seems to object to my coverage of their products. In fact, at least twice, Trappy has explicitly asked me to.... more or less, pretend they don't exist. So I definitely will continue to review and make educational content about TBS products as it comes up. But a start to finish in-depth tutorial wouldn't be at the top of my list.

I agree I would love to see some tutorials from TBS. I get some from Lounge streams and though I'm not a Facebook user alot of the information is in their Facebook Lounge. Honestly their support system is great too. Almost always they like to verify my wiring - just in case when I report a problem; so my guess is they would be able to explain some of the new features. For example, 'My VTX', Data over CRSF for VTX; OTA over CRSF for VTX updates - unify nano pro32, Dynamic Power; Dynamic Rate or 50/150 locking.

You're right that the Wizard has an F3 so it can't run those new features.

I get it that it's some extra steps, and not our "norm" , but honestly, what's wrong with downloading the files and uploading them to the config? Again, this isn't an internet troll comment, or calling you stupid or something, I genuinely mean that, are you having difficulties? If so, what difficulties, as mine has gone fairly smooth, and i've added lines for other power levels (Unify) for example.

@@jackdaniels7913 For sure, I believe we ALL have our own ways of doing things, and it's not right that someone would think your opinion or your way is dumb, because it's not, it's YOUR way and what YOU like, and there is nothing wrong with that. There are too many of those guys that exist today, on youTube, or where ever that love to just say someone is stupid for having a different way about things, and I hate that. Personally I disagree. Especially the rates, aux channels and ports are much easier to paste in. If you have complicated LED setup, same deal. There are parts that are easier to set up in the GUI but there are definitely parts easier to paste in.

Do u paste these in before or after you update to 4.1? Sorry first quad and absolutely know nothing about any of this I just wanna safely get into the air with best settings.

That is not the correct target for your board. STM32F405 is a generic target which requires you to paste in a CLI dump after flashing to complete config. If you followed along with this video, then before you saved a "diff all" output. Look at that output. At the top of the file is a line that starts with "version" and it shows the target name you are supposed to flash. @@JoshuaBardwell yes i kind of figured that and got the right one now and back on. apart from that no matter what i do and followed all your videos i cannot get it to arm, even followed your not arming vid plus for some reason the bluetooth speedy bee chip cant be found when i scan on the app for it.

I couldn't get 4.0 to work at all. Went back to 3.5. so was reluctant to try 4.1 but went for it on an er349 and it flies great

backup still has your settings you can use like Joshua shows. Reflash with erase all and restore defaults. Then work through this video.

I did the the same thing. turns out I selected the wrong target. MATEKF411 when I should have chosen MATEKF411RX. BlHeli only showed 2 ESC;s. Reflash with the correct target and the correct resource mapping will find your two "missing" ESC's.

It may not be safe to copy a RC dump to a release firmware. Pretty sure RC6 is sage but perhaps not earlier ones.

It's because the air mode feature is enabled in the configuration tab. Since it's permanently on, the mode disappears.

Did the update and it's Flys great. One issue, when stick is at 0 the quad seams to windup to a point of almost a flyaway. Does not happen on 3.5. What a pain.

The "slot" method was never supposed to be used that way. They took out slots but you can still do what you were doing. Set the range to cover the whole channel width. Set both aux channels to the same one that you are using to switch modes. You only need one line now to accomplish the same thing.

Correct. You did not update your FC to 4.1. I think you downloaded the updated configurator version 10.6.0 but you never flashed 4.1 to your FC.

Emuflight is not Betaflight. So Emuflight can't be the best flying version of Betaflight ever. Also, Emuflight is based on 3.5.7 so it is lacking some 4.1 features that people want. Also that was just one quad.

I think I will stick to 3.5.7. Betaflight 4.whatever seems like too much of a ball ache.

Support for F3 flight controllers has been dropped in 4.1 because they don't have enough memory to hold it.

Your motors might be mapped wrong or your props might be on wrong.

If the quadcopter instantly flips over when you arm and raise the throttle with props on, it is almost 100% certain to be one of these things: 1. Clockwise prop installed on counter-clockwise spinning motor or vice versa. 2. Flight controller not facing forward. Go to the Setup tab in the configurator. Tilt the quadcopter on all axes (pitch, roll, yaw) with your hands. The 3D model in the configurator should move the same as you move it with your hand. If it does not, use the Board Alignment parameter in the Configuration tab to fix it. 3. Motors not wired correctly. TAKE OFF YOUR PROPS. Plug in a battery. Go to the Motors tab. Turn on the "props are off" slider in the lower-right. Raise the individual sliders (1, 2, 3, and 4) one at a time, just enough that the motor begins spinning. The motor positions (1, 2, 3, and 4) should match the graphic in the upper left. If they do not, then either move the signal wires so that they are correct or use resource reassignment to virtually "move" the motors. 4. Motor spinning wrong direction. Do the same as step 3 but compare the motor direction to the arrows on the graphic in the upper left. If a motor is spinning the wrong direction, either reverse it using BLHeli (or whatever ESC software you are using) or swap any two motor wires with each other, which will reverse the direction. Many times, people swear up and down they have checked all of these things, and then come back to say oops I missed one you were right. So if you think you have checked all of these things and your quad still FLIPS OUT, go back and check again. If your quad is insta-flipping on takeoff, it is almost always one of these things.

I guess that has nothing to do with BF 4.1 Gyro error ... You need to calibrate the gyro (also accelerometer) with stick command before arming and take off.

Diff includes just the current profile and rate profile whereas diff all includes all profiles and rate profiles.

Yes D Morgan's response is great. You really do learn as you re-configure these things. You explore each feature individually. The BF Configurator devs have also gone to great lengths to add lots of data to the little info bubbles in the GUI. I'm loving 4.1 on everything from whoops to 6inch.

Nvm, I think I got it :-) it flies better now comparing to 3.2.x version.
