WOW, Im so sorry you guys live under tyranny, not that anywhere else is much better but atleast in the usa we are able to protect ourselves and families. I couldnt imagine having to carry a freakin flashlight for protection. Several years ago while travling alone across country I had a man attempt to abduct while wheeleding a razor knife, If it werent for me having my Glock 9mm with me that night I wouldnt be talking to you. That man was trying to get me in the car so he could rape me and much worse, yes he was stronger, bigger and probably faster but he still lost. Everyone has a right to defend their own life, and the lives of their families and loved ones.

Loved the video, the narration, the editing, highlighting the mistakes etc. Great job! I made a similar pouch but modified it so the top edge of the flashlight ended up being at the same height as the top edge of the multitool so it wouldn't dig into my side whenever I sit down or bent over.

I like both your review videos and your build videos as well. Your side by sid e examples of the machines are very helpful. Your knife and flashlight holder build was cool. Incorporating review and project build was nice. I'm a vacuum for everything CBC related. Wheather router, laser, machining, or 3D printing. But most of all your approach and presentation is very instructive and informative. With little to no real bias, just straight up this is how it is. This is what happens if, what you can and can't do with a material or machine. Thank you for your contribution to the CBC world. May you have a good day.....from Southeast Alaska.

Hi Joshua, I enjoy most all the content you post. My favorite and what makes me want to get out to my shop are videos like the power hammer build, anything where your just making things. Mostly because it's interesting to see your thought process for simplifying and streamlining a process. You've made a few videos where you were making many of something and along the way you optimize the process, increasing the speed at which you're able to complete a finished product. Good stuff. No matter what you produce, you put a lot of thought into the task at hand, it's always interesting and we all appreciate what you're doing

FYI, good laser pointer but your subscribers should know the USB C implementation on the 40w laser you are using is non standard. Creality appears to connect the precision setting button to the USB C signal pins on this 40w laser. So, if you make your pointer with a USB C male connector that has smart charger resistors installed the laser pointer will work but the resistors in this connector will disable switching between precision laser and normal laser modes. Remedies- 1. just use normal 2. unplug the laser pointer before setting precision mode 3. remove the resistors form the male USB C connector (This is what I did) 4. make this project with male connectors which do not come with these resistors installed. As long as these resistors are not installed the precision buttons should work.I hope this helps.

I enjoy all your content and your honesty about the tools you review. I find myself wanting to buy each machine you review but when I check the prices I can rarely afford them. But I do miss your blacksmithing and sculpture content. When I started to watch your channel it was because of the sculptures and things like the power hammer. Joshua, you are so handy with so many things, have you thought of making a *DIY Solar Water Heater, and storing the heat in an insulated tank?* The common _vacuum insulated selective surface absorber tubes_ will get you close to 100°C/212°F with no concentration of the sunlight, though it takes a long time to reach full temperature. Higher temperatures are really good, they increase the amount of _usable heat_ you can store. For temperatures above the boiling point of water, mirrored acrylic sheets can be bent into parabolic troughs to really concentrate the sunlight on the collector pipe, and single-axis tracking can follow the daily path of the sun across the sky. Weekly adjustments to the other axis can be done manually, the combination giving you what amounts to 2-axis solar tracking! An example of that I saw years ago gave an output temperature of 300°C/572°F, easily hot enough to run a closed-cycle steam engine at around 30% thermal efficiency, and still have 'waste heat' of around 55°C/131°F for heating water and buildings. On that basis, I calculated that *30 cubic meters of hot sand and rocks at 300°C could provide ALL the energy (electric and heat) to keep an 'average family' happy for an entire month of no sunny days!* I have pictures and calculations available, but obviously cannot post them in YT comments. There are also simpler versions that do not attempt to track the sun, and will work even with hazy skies, but give lower output temperatures. @joshuadelisle

I was thinking the same thing, as a second amendment absolutist (if one is too dangerous to be trusted with a firearm then they've already shown they're too dangerous to be trusted loose within society) the idea of not being able to defend myself is unthinkable. It's even more abhorrent to think women are left defenseless. The UK keeps getting worse in this area granting more power to the thugs, they are barely behind China now with the only difference being knives have to be attached with cables to the counters in China, at least the UK hasn't gone that far.... I have the xtool D1 pro 20w and the F1, which is great for engraving metal using the IR. I have managed to use them to quit the 9-5 and work for myself. I'm not quite earning the same money yet, but I am getting close! I started with 3D printing and that naturally led to lasers and buying a tiny NEJE 5w. I soon wanted more power. I'm hooked. I want a fiber laser next for deep metal engraves. Thanks for taking the time to make this. 😊

Thank you and well done that's awesome. I've got the laserpecker 4 to show off soon. It does very well on metal surfaces apparently. That's so cool you're earning with your machines. It's a very competitive market as so many people have one but you must have found the right product to make with one. Cheers J

Thank you I would love to have one like this but I don't think my alarm system would like it will go on every time to cook anything well done because I live in apartment, first I have figure out a ventilation system strong to remove all smoke out for any kinds of materials in small details.

I am so impressed with your video. A laser cutter/engraver has been on my wish list for years, but as an old retired hoarder, I need to make room in the garage for a place to store it. I am thinking that if it is not too heavy, I could move it outside to use it and use the breeze to keep the fumes away. Love your videos. Wow! Your only weakness is that you respond to so many comments that it takes time away from making even more great content. Thanks for the beautiful work and videos.

This is the first video I have watched of this type and I found it fascinating and very informative. To date I have never used a 3D printer or Laser but I have an interest in both. I’ve looked at my local adult education availability but have not found any beginner courses for either. I’m not sure where your videos start but I intend to find out. I do hope I can get to grips with it all through you as I find it easy to follow what you are saying which is a great start. I’ll enter the competition because you can’t really learn without practice so fingers and toes crossed. Thank you for taking to time to share your knowledge, it’s greatly appreciated.

Excellent content! I think its well worth the time reviewing the new class of laser cutters like these, the CO2 ones still fill their nieche but are difficult for the hobbyist to find a home for given their size and weight. If i could make a request for some content it would be on expected logevity of these 40w diode lasers, how often to clean and maintain them and how to go about repairing/replacing parts on them when they do break.

Laser cutting and 3d printing knitting machines are my favorites till now. Very good job on the idea of machine building. Would love to see more of these. Perhaps the knitting machine project can be improved further? There is no other content creator that has done something related to knitting and 3D that I remember seeing. And I do follow lots of makers. An open source projects review and comparison would be very helpful. The costs and profits estimates are also very appreciated. Overall your videos are helpful and unique to me due to the the content and your humor. Well... my gast is well and truly flabbered! If I have to choose content type, that's a tricky one. I fell in love with you when you were making the most amazing craft work so I'm edging that way. BUT, I've since ordered the XTool D1 Pro following your review. Having been humming and haring for way too long you helped me make the final decision and, much to my surprise, the wife agreed!!! Coming up to 3 weeks later, the XTool is still sealed in the box due to a total lack of time on my part but it's going to see the light of day very soon and It's going to be like Christmas' from my childhood all over again 😀 Thanks for all the work you put in to your content, everyone is a goldmine of quality information and inspiration. Final verdict... more crafts please. The BIG problem with your new reviews is that I now have a still boxed D1 Pro sitting here in the workshop and I'm left wondering if I should have waited. The Problem with that logic is I'll never get around to forging that life worth living you keep telling me to! 😖 Favorite video - Moth Cocktail Holder 👍👍👍 Cheers

Thank you so much. If it makes you feel better I'm keeping my D1 and raffling off the Falcon2 in fact this week I'm adding extensions on the D1 and using a proper lightburn camera. I'm making a few things with it that hopefully you'll enjoy. D1 is a quality machine and should last a long time too. I've also got 5 other lasers to show so I can only say just be content with what you have and enjoy the projects as they'll all be able to be done with the D1. More smithing coming too. Cheers J

Very interesting Joshua, Hope you don't mind, but I have another suggestion - how about combining what you like to do most with what gets the views in 2 part episodes. Do a poll to make something original (or just have a list of what you want to make), but also accept the challenge of making, modifying or sourcing (as affordably as possible) the tools to make that original item. Also... hoarders are winners! While hoarders do get a bad rap, and we do drive the other halves batty, we can let our spontaneous inspiration (or impulsive creativity) loose as we don't have to wait for things to arrive. ;)
@joshuadelisle
@joshuadelisle 9 ай бұрын
Thank you, exactly right on hoarding done right. Lots of useful stuff just can't find it when needed lol. As far as poll goes I did try once but what people say and what people watch doesn't match it would seem. Or that it seems my most responsive subscribers to poll content are a minority of what the rest actually want to watch. It's hard to tell. Cheers J

I started watching your videos for your outstanding welding and fabrication skills, then subscribed. Can't blame you reviewing all the free kit you get but if you've watched one 3d printer and laser video you've seen them all, no skill involved. Printers and lasers no forging, A life worth living.

I try to mix it up a bit with the review videos and make something interesting with the kit I'm given. I did a little forging in the one laser video which people seem to enjoy. My stand alone metalworking videos don't seem to get as many views. I'll be doing lots more though again at some point but currently I'm overwhelmed with kit to review. It's great just not forging but it is paving a life for my family. Cheers J
