Yess same here! Try a thrift store also, they have some books like $1 each that has cute things to tear out and use. They also might have some journaling paper as well :) you get variety and ways to be innovative/ creative with thrift stores so that’s cool 😁

you know what, i had the same problem. especially messing up the first page was so terrifying to me that it took me a long time to even start planning out what I was gonna do. but then I decided to not write or draw on my first page but instead put two minimalistic pictures of my favourite character and just leave it like that. this way I had a nice minimalistic cover and was motivated to keep journaling! hope you find your way to start, don't give up, you got this!😄

That's why I use an old composition notebook that I had used for taking notes, or an old tore up spiralbound notebook with pages missing. It gives me the freedom to practice and not worry about it looking like absolute trash, because I started with trash! I also like to use things like old cards, candy wrappers, and other packaging, as well as the paper towels I use to dry my brush when painting, even old paintings I didnt like how they came out, to recycle!

I was the same, but honestly it's impossible to mess up a journal (I know the feeling, I have awful handwriting, also I'm a bad drawer). You could scribble all over a page and it would be considered journalling All journals are different, some have mostly art and no writing, some it's a good mix and some it's blocks and blocks of writing. My first journal was honestly awful and I thought about throwing it away/stopping multiple times but when it was done I was so proud of it, things I thought were mistakes actually ended up looking like it was purposeful. I think also finding the type of journaling that fits you best is important as well, for example for me I like small amounts of art and paragraphs of writing, where a lot of examples in this video is basically no writing which obviously those people like best.

Yeah I had the same problem, and over time I just piled up on a bunch of beautiful tapes and stickers, so now I'm not scared to use them at all, they are there to be used, not just sit around all day. I've started to but together a gorgeous little journal/scrapbook and it makes me really happy :)

I don't know if you still have interest enough in journaling to find a solution to this (or if you've already found one), but I recommend starting small. Just write a bit about each day when you feel like it, and add from there. It doesn't have to be extremely artsy, aesthetic, or time consuming- it just has to be something that you're comfortable with. I'm in a similar situation, but am waiting to receive my supplies in order to journal again. Best of luck on your journey!

Dollar store is good, but take a rummage through your junk mail, old magazines, and trash! you'd be surprised what cool stuff you can find in them. You can find pretty swatches and people wearing cool clothes in old clothes magazines, there can be cool photoes in general magazines, i take the old parenting magazines my parents have in their basement, as well as some cards whenever a holiday rolls around, and even some paint chips when I go to the hardware store. You don't need to buy things to have a cool-looking journal! I even have some candy wrappers in mine, haha

first thing i did was find a journal that had blank pages and i got a black one so i could paint or draw something on top and then i searched up bullet journal supplies and scrolled through that and found some things and you can look up scrap paper for journals or vintage or some type of stickers and u can get washi tape and thats the basic stuff but i be you can find for stuff if u keep searching and ali express is good for stuff like this too. i hope this helps ahaha

Some say that life is pointless 🤷‍♀️ Wether or not it’s true, as long as your happy and not hurting anyone, I don’t think it matters if there’s a point lol. Plus, it might seem pointless to you, but for some people it might be a de-stresser. I have tonss of friends who do this because it helps them with anxiety
