They literally talked about how if they only made vids where they worked on cars they’d only be able to drop a vid like once every couple months maybe. So it’s either very little donut content, or these cheaper to make quicker to make vids in between longer and more expensive vids. They also confirmed they’re doing another hi lo series which will be the final thing Jerry and Jobe work on.

@@TheMainCoreI agree, it’s entertaining, but it’s so far off its roots it’s really hard to see resemblance between what it was to where it is now. Take OG Top Gear for example. what made them so successful is that it was constant expansion on the same theme- a few guys hanging out and driving cars, sprinkled with a bit of automotive journalism and great production. With donut, we went from up to speed and science garage to $5 Temu reviews and Craig’s list searches.

Well I think that's a pretty common situation when working on the more advanced BMW models. They are not made to be serviced by normal people with limited tools and access to parts. Actually a lot of modern cars are like that, but the more expensive ones seem to be worse. When I grew up we had a neighbor who was a mechanic specialized on one brand only. The absurd thing was that they sent car over to him when their own mechanics couldn't repair them. He knew just about everything about the strangest kinds of problems in that brands cars and could set his price accordingly. It was good for him, but it didn't make we want one of their cars.

That BMW 850i with the Donut license plate at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="1233">20:33</a> is the one that I helped import from Japan back in 2019. i ended up working on it a couple times. it was great to drive but god was that thing a pain. it had serious battery draw issues. the dashboard would suck power from the battery and kill it over a couple days. It was then gifted to Donut as part of a business deal. I've seen it a couple times over the years in the background of videos

@@EM-fi2qgI had a weak relay and a aftermarket alarm system that drew power constantly. Removed the alarm, repaired the relay. Hope that helps. Long live the E30

@@EM-fi2qgthe e31 has a common issue with the general body control module 2 going bad and causing parasitic drain. i just got through that in my e31. they’re not super hard. i found a guy that rebuilds the modules for like $75+ shipping and return shipping.

And that's exactly the problem with most of these iconic models. When you changing everything except the name, of course people will complain that you disrespect the legacy. Suprisingly, GM do it the right way with Corvette. Today corvette are far from the old days, but since the change are gradual between models, people still accept that it is Corvette. Even if it's rear engine and expensive car now.

True American sports car. *Actually Australian. It wasn't discontinued for sale in the USA because of slow USA sales, it finished its production run in Australia for the next Commodore (VE). Fun fact. The Camero was also designed in Australia by Holden.

Owner of a '70 LeMans here. Aka the GTO's fancy brother. The GTO is considered by some as the first American muscle car. The Judge! The Firebird! Smokey & the Bandit's Trans Am! That was quintessential muscle! For us fanboys, the "new" GTO in the era of the Camaro, Mustang, Charger & Challenger revival felt like a slap in the face. I personally believe If GM would have followed the trend & leaned into the old school styling for the GTO we would still see Pontiacs on the road today.

As a German and Bavarian i'm glad to see Americans give these Cars (BMW Original 8 Series) the Props they deserve, these are still super popular here in Germany, especially Bavaria, even in my small Town in Southern Bavaria we have 3 People owning them. I own a 996 Porsche 4S. You can buy FIVE of them for the price of one reasonable mileage air cooled 964 or 993. I guarantee you, it's a LOT of car for the money. I've enjoyed mine for three years now and it's been very reliable and gives me thrills. Great bargains.

That's the reason why I recentely went with a porsche 928, I am just waiting for the seller to go for a mandatory before sale check. I don't have the money for an air cooled porsche let alone one that's old enough to put it on classic plates. 944 and 924 are in the same boat, cheapish because they aren't 911's but they are still amazing cars.

Best guess is he's still under contract with them and he is actively trying to renegotiate his position there or trying to negotiate an exit that is favorable to him, and that he, Donut, and anybody else who actually know what's going on are all bound by confidentiality agreements and can't discuss anything.

Yup. That was pretty much the only complaint about the car when it came out. No one wanted that egg shaped styling that looked like a late 90s 2 door Chevy Prizm/Toyota Corolla. I don't think it even had to be retro styled. If it just looked like that concept that came out a few years before, it would have sold.
