Yeah I was so mad that they killed her off screen like she deserved so much better than a book death. Hopefully they animate the books she was apart of.

@@jonathanmacancela2284 Just the fact of them killing her off is quite disappointing to me. Ventress had a lot of potencial and it would have been so great to see her in one of the live action series such as The Mandalorian. It was a waste of a good character to kill her off like that. I would totally watch an entire series abt Ventress and her adventures as a dark Jedi, ex-Sith acolyte.

Now I realise that Ventress suffered a lifetime full of abandonment, first by her clan, her owner, her jedi master, her sith master and mother talzin again. Not all of them were voluntary, but at the end she was always alone. I love how at the end she started to learn how to live on her own.

In legends, she suffered even worse. Dooku literally ordered her death on the battlefield, but at least in that, she managed to build a new life. In Canon, she died forgotten and only cared for by Vos. She pretty much had a shitty childhood and past.

She held her own and even outsmarted some of the strongest Jedi ever. She held her own against both Anakin and Obi Wan several times, defeated Grievous in a duel, nearly killed Luminara Unduli. She’s a very VERY powerful user of the dark side.

Definately stronger than Grand Inquisitor, even though Filoni claimed he was on the level of Ventress. If she was fully trained by Sith, (her training by Dooku was incomplete) she might be on the level of Maul. And it is a shame she never learned Nightsister magicks. Those might have given her edge, or at least versatility, over other Sith and Jedi.

I love the novel Dark Disciple, highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t read it, but I really want it to be retconned. I really want her to show up in the new Ahsoka series, that would make me beyond happy. She is one of my favorite characters of all time.

Retconning is a slippery slope, If disney wants their canon to be taken seriously they have to stay consistent, they’ve already created enough problems with their canon as it is. Georges canon had 40+ years of material and it all has stayed consistent, Disney has wrecked their canon several times since they bought it.

@@darthcaliginous2066 Old canon wasn't really consistent, but there was ierarchy which stories are canon in case of contradiction. Disney tried to make "united canon", where everything matters equally, but it's already full of contradictions.

Asajj is such a complex character. Cunning, arrogant (rightfully) but with a sense of pride and honor (will not betray), will seek vengeance relentlessly. There's a hint of empathy and occasional tease. Fate has it that she has undergone so many trials, what height would she have risen if allowed to stay with the Jedi order.

44:58 You know what... I finally get why Commander Wolfe sounded so scared when Ventress grabbed him and threw him into the pole. I just remembered that Ventress was the one responsible for taking out his eye awhile ago, and he was going up against her without any backup. I give Wolfe props for still willing to go in against her knowing that he could lose a lot more because of it.

@@JournaloftheWhills i have read, for example, the legends of Luke Skywalker, Princess of Alderaan, Lost Stars, Knights of the Old Republic/dawn of the jedi comics, son of Dathomir and Dark empire. I will read Ahsoka and the Thrawn trilogy (the old old one, from legends) very soon. They are different kind of books, so it's hard to compare. But being honest, is literally everything you can expect from a very good Clone Wars arc. The best thing is that just like in any book, you can see what the characters are thinking and feeling. And trust me, the main characters are really interesting. Also, there are lots of references to other clone wars episodes. If it was part of the series, it will probably be in my top 2-5 arcs, among with Maul's, Ahsoka's and Fives's episodes.

Side note: I loved the first Thrawn book of the new ones, the other Thrawn books of the new ones are alright. Also the Ahsoka book wasn’t the greatest in my opinion

very much in line with most other villains in this series tbh. Dooku and Sidious are pretty much the only ones who tolerate a setback, and thats because they know they are playing both sides of the chessboard in the end anyways, while Vader and Tarkin coped with failure by killing off a subordinate.

I always preferred grevious over ventress in the early seasons, but what they did with her in the later seasons made me prefer ventress over grevious. They did a really good job on her arc, really this whole show is great.

I feel like she should’ve had more kills especially if she fought padawans, but the way she treated her droids compared to Grievous, even recognizing 224 from their replacement, makes me think that she’s more of an enforcer than an assassin.

Read Dark Disciple. Really good book, definitely recommend checking it out if you get the chance, and it explains where Ventress is right now.

@@lordofnut3272 Well, they could have made a series about her, quite adventurous, life...I think they didi not want to focus on Ventress. And this is the reason The Dark Disciple arc never made it on screen. Having released it as part of TCW animated series, all the fans would have gone "crazy" about Ventress and then they would be "obliged" to make a live action series about her...

Never noticed the Ventress's theme, but with all these back to back I now hear it and it's sick. Ventress always seemed kind of an underrated character, her story was very good and she was always somewhat comparable to Ahsoka in a way to me.

It’s so funny when she’s fighting Yoda that he simply takes her sabers and then gives them back instantly and it’s enough to show her gently he would annihilate her in a real fight. The look on her face is like a kid who’s just accepted their parents rules lol

26:48 After that moment I wished for Savage Opress to do the same for Asajj Ventress no matter what she suffered before. But then Savage had his tragic end and Ventress was starting to change for better. Since that moment part of me shall never accept her redemption arc. And even when interrogated by Anakin, part of me wished for her execution at his hands and never talking about it. But he was still good enough to resist that temptation and he only departed with threats.

I get that Dooku was ordered to have ventress killed, but like he didn't have to be so cruel about it - the sith may be against empathy, but lack of empathy does not mean a sociopathic nature inscribed to cause pain - He could have just given her no reason rather than that she's a failure, keep her fighting to the death at least - the way he laid it out, she very easily could have turned back to the light and surrendered herself to the jedi had Obi-Wan and Anakin not been such dicks

You ever notice how many starwars names are close to food or food related items Obi Wan kenobi - wanton kenoli Anakin -a napkin Corasaunt - cresaunt Palpatine - ovaltine Their are more I just dont remember. I think he came up with many names while eating 🤣 and it is proven that he creates names in this way because when he was on the John Stewart show and was asked where obi Wan was from he said he was from Stewjohn. Using John's name. I honestly think a ton of starwars names are just modified house hold items and food. 🤣
