I am 75 yrs old from the US and retired living in the Philippines, am enjoying Journey Band, especially with AP...

They had a concert the night before and had no sleep. So what do you expect. I am surprise he can even sing and perform the way he did.

In my opinion, the secret why Arnel is being embraced for more than 10 years now by Journey’s fan base (50% of the diehard SP fans), by the Filipino fans who don’t know him before his stint in the journey, the world fans and especially the youth. The Millennial’s, is his captured fans and the newbies in rooting the Journey, I think 40% of the Journey’s fans today are Millenials, and they’ve appreciated the seasoned band because of Arnel’s entry to the group. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

His first concert in chile was incredible! maybe unforgetable for him also for us fans coz its one of the best concert since after the eighties.

Thank You Sir Neal Schon for discovering and giving the world, the humble Arnel Pineda. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 The UNIQUENESS or the difference of Sir ARNEL PINEDA among other artist is his injection of unique innovations when a vocalist performs in a band. And how he pours his heart and soul into each song as he interprets and sing at the same time. That’s why when The Journey through Neal Schon hand-picked Arnel, there was a Divine intervention in there I feel, knowing that Arnel would give justice to their songs. At the same time, God heard and make perfection, His promises to Arnel to grant his wish of recognition not only to his fellow artists in the Philippines and its audience, instead, he gave the world a new energy and a twist in Journey’s songs. As for me, Arnel is never a copycat of any artist for”HE IS HIS OWN MAN OF AN ARTIST “. He does not want to replace Steve Perry because SP among other Journey’s singer has their own time with the group…. And I call it Phase 1 or the First Book of The Journey when they were still younger and middle aged men at the same time. Arnel Pineda, came in the Second Book of the Older Journey…. What I’ve said above were my opinion during my experience of hearing Journey with Arnel Pineda in main Vocals. I don’t even know, Sir Arnel when he was still based in the Philippines. I first hear him sing in You Tube with their stint in Chile in 2008. I was shocked that the main voice was a Filipino among a group of seasoned artist that of Journey. The rest is history and the beginning of my following and liking the Journey with Arnel Pineda as part of the band. Kudos ‘The Journey’. Mabuhay ka ARNEL PINEDA. This kind of arrangement must be very difficult for a band as it was in the street and the whole crowd was watching ( including the millions of people watching on TVs it was televised all over the world to see !!!! ) BUT given that Journey performs LIVE in many situations such as this one-- All of the band's iconic members delivered well--most especially Arnel Pineda who sings amazingly well! Spaceghost I just got back from the Journey concert. It took us 2 hours to get out of the parking lot. I believe the amphitheater was full, crowded way up in the lawn. It most be about 25,000 spectators. Awesome concert, confetti cannon at the end of Don't Stop Believing. A would say WORLD CUP CALIBER!

@JourneyCelebration i was at the show in tinley park and it was a blast!! i got a free ticket from a good buddy who works for a classic rock station...he called me at 4:00, and i told him hell yeah, i'd go...he got me around 4:45 and took a coach bus with other folks from a biker bar in seneca, il at 6:00 and made it to the show....we missed night ranger, but got in before foreigner started...they rocked and journey blew the place up, and my voice is still gone from yelling all night!!

@spaceghost30082 I beg to differ with your opinion. Steve Perry was a great singer with a very soulful voice. I listen to the old Journey songs and enjoy Steve's soothing voice. That was then, and this is now. Steve has stopped singing for many years and is probably not able to hit the same high notes. Arnel has resurrected Journey and is now the new voice of the band. He has proven himself worthy of being the new lead singer in front of hundreds of thousands of fans all over the world.

I'll update you with the crowd happenings at their concert tonight at the First Midwest Amphitheater, I read it seats 30,000.I guess that's small scale to your standard. I was there 2008, it looked very crowded then, why don't you BUY A TICKET & check these venues out yourself. It took us 2 hours to get in, as I recall. Let me blame the hurricane that hit Chicago on that night and not the 25,000+ who went to see their concert. People dancing in the torrential rain, now that was a sight to see!

The only other guy that became a instant successful replacement in a band is Brian Johnson from AC/DC that carried on to great acclaim, Arnel is great singer.

Great performance! Arnel's voice sound a bit hoarse in this performance and appears to struggle hitting the high notes. In his previous performances, he was able to hit the same high notes effortlessly that they sounded so sweet. These marathon concerts are taking a toll on this incredible singer's voice. I hope Journey would give Arnel a few days off in between concerts to rest his voice. Arnel is a great singer and I am awed by every one of his performances. Journey to the moon!
