I can't understand why the show's Director/Producer didn't have Steve and Arnel share the stage? Ever heard of a duo? That would have been most amazing to hear, to watch and emotionally satisfying to fans of both the old and new Journey. Display a symbolic passing of the torch. I just like their music period. In years to come, when the members are dead, I will still like the music no matter who is playing the instruments or singing the songs. The song brings back memories - not the band back then or today. Just happy that there was a band back then and a band today to play these songs... and hopefully a band in the future.

It's not like a Bon Jovi or Axl Rose kind of situation. He's just tired, Neal and Journey's management has been in a lot of shows. This is also one of the reason why Perry got burned out and left the band. He wanted rest and surgery on an injury but Neal and management insisted that he can just shrug it off.

And to be honest Arnel never had it as tough as Perry did touring .Their first tour with him , they were already lowering keys to certain songs , before the tour was finished . Perry did 2 brutal tours during their most popular era . To give an idea over 100 shows per tour , and 5 nights in many big venues . I don't think Arnel would have lasted one of those giant tours . Their is a reason by Raised on Radio Perry was done .. and Arnel has somehow lasted over 10 years . He didn't get put through what Perry's voice did

Lynne, there are so many young and new Journey fans that never saw SP like we did in the 70's and 80's. They don't have a CLUE how special he was in delivering a concert. His heart and soul with they're music live was exhilarating. I would be high for weeks reliving the excitement of they're concert for weeks in my head. I would listen to their live 2 album set Captured to relive those moments. I wish Steve would have sang to but he always kept his distance. The Behind the Music episode 20 years ago pretty much told us all we needed to hear with the inner band issues. Niel and Steve are SO different in a lot of ways in how they think, long term it just was never meant to be. Even if SP had not had hip issues after Trial by Fire they're problems would have at some point escalated again. As the song went, it goes on and on and on and on 😉

Oh piss off! They would have been inducted without Arnel! The haven't released a hit with him ffs! He's a karaoke singer who mimics Steve. Talented at it yes, once, but now at 52....its pathetic. Not even close to Steve. The Arnel years have been nothing more than Neil trying to continue making money and have fame without Steve. Neil's a dick, like so many bands they fall apart because of egos. Neils was the biggest in Journey, and he hated sharing the lime light with what he considered was "just the singer" of his band.

@@wayne_3791 oh piss off! Steve was no longer in the band his the orig. Singer we get it. But in reality he just a former member and there a new member thats Arnel and infact they made an album 2008 revalation and guess what whos the singer Arnel not THE FORMER member but the new one. Thats life accept it like we accept that steve was the orig singer. Stop hatin that dude touring and singing his ass off for more than dacade nonstop.

Congratulations Journey! Rock and Roll Hall of from is a long time coming! True classic rock sound of my youth and still worthy of listening to. Saw Journey live three times in Long Beach, California in the 1980’s. They were so good I went twice by myself! Nothing like Steve Perry voice singing their lyrics. Honestly if your being put into the Rock of Frame you should be the one singing your hit songs, because you made them a hit. It would be different if Steve had passed away. For me this is. Rey disrespectful. Yes, Arielle can sing but a fan can hear the differences in their voices.

Arnel is the best and the nearest to Steve's voice you can find. Never got to see them in the 80's has as a teen. But did see them with Arnel soon after he joined. Just find it Very strange that Steve did not perform at the most important moment of journeys career! Dissapointing

Guys quit hating on Arnel, Steve has said he is on Arnel's side and doesnt want to try to unseat him or appear to. He decided to not perform. In addition, Steve has done pretty well for himself. Bands break up its part of the music business. Cool that this song still rocks 40+ years later.
