I never knew there were so many people in the music industry commenting on the Journey Freedom music - production/mixing/harmonies/vocals/etc. Wow! STFU and stop complaining. This album is great! "Holdin on" is similiar in sound to early Journey/Perry. As someone who just placed my FREEDOM order. I'm stoked! I give it a 9.something out of 10. UPDATE: After listening to the full album a number of times this week I gotta give it a 10/10 So damn good!

Journey is my favorite band of all time and I will be forever grateful that Arnel Pineda brought these guys back from the brink in 07, even though no one can EVER replace Steve Perry, Arnel has done better than anyone could ever imagine. All that being said, in the few attempts to create new music since Arnel join in 07 nothing has really souded right. The old stuff always has been, and always will be great, but let me tell you something, even though Arnel Pineda has been the lead singer of Journey for 15 years, THIS IS HIS COMING OUT PARTY! They allowed Arnel to be Arnel and not a Steve Perry clone, and it shows! Best pure rock album in years! If you haven’t heard it your missing out! #10 on the track list (Holdin On) is probably the best pure rock song I've heard in 25 years. Taking me back to the 80's Baby!

Cool song, but what the hell is going on with the vocal mix? They really shouldn't have let Walden produce.

This could have totally been on the H.S.A.S. record. Toying with the iTunes EQ can really make this record sound better. It still deserves a Rock Candy Remaster out of the box, there's killer instrumentation here, and great vocals, but the mix just isn't right.

Far too much reverb on tracks and vocals don’t cut through. It all sounds muddy.

The songs are good, and Arniel sounds fantastic, but those low harmonies just do not sound right. I don't like them. That s NOT the Journey sound we all know and love.

The music is over the vocals, is that Steve Perry doesn't sound like him but as I said I can't hear the voice clearly. I've heard a lot better

okay... deen hit it more like steve right.... this is by far i see for most of the comment here. if u ask me deen certainly got the better of steve sound here but in the sense who should carry the lead i dont really like to based it who sound steve perry more.... i dont into discrediting arnels effort to help and contribute the band. arnel is a different talent and deen too.....

Yeah those harmonies don’t work. Know what they were going for …think its more effects in recording causing the annoyance!

I give this album a 7/10. Mixing sucks. Can barely hear any harmonies in any of the songs. Arnel does a good job singing. Still a karaoke band.

Pineda's voice is too thin for these songs man and his tone and phrasing are not there Gotta get a professional singer dude he sounds like a kid trying to sing Journey lol THe song is cool tho
