Lawain McNeil grew up in a strong Christian home, and early on, felt a call to ministry. He pursued a degree in Biblical studies and ended up serving in the Church of Christ.
A number of factors in his life led him to begin exploring the Catholic Faith, including an interest in the Catholic literary and artistic tradition, and friendship with others who shared his background and were also interested in Catholicism. He shares how all those threads came together as he made his way home to the Catholic Church.

I was also raised in the Church of Christ a decade earlier, became an Anglican and eventually converted to Catholicism. I am now a Diocesan Hermit in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.

My girls sent me the Jon Marc interview, Lawain. You were great and your journey inspiring. By chance if I never mentioned it, I want thank you for the inspiration your conversion to the faith in the 90’s was for my return to the Church as a divorced man - thank you, brother. Thank you for your story. It is very encouraging to me and our 4 generations of over 40 members, completely Catholic family. A sweet young lady who is COC and wants to marry my youngest son and he wants to marry her, has kept intensely studying, because of the 6th Chapter of St. John's Gospel. Original Sin is one of her disagreements. You have given a lot of good advice here!
