Greg Willits grew up Catholic. His wife was in the Worldwide Church of God. After their child was baptized, they both had profound awakenings especially in regard to the Eucharist.

It's amazing how God patiently calls His people home! I can relate to Jennifer's story as I was a part of the Restored Church of God, a splinter church of the Worldwide Church of God, from 2011 to 2013. I never ran so fast from a church! They were, without a doubt, a cult. I could tell you stories. I am now a recent Catholic convert who was brought in during this year's Easter Vigil and I can truly say that I am home! Thanks be to God!

I remember hearing Herbert W Armstrong preaching on the radio. Very talented speaker. Everything centered around prophecy. Beliefs were a combination of Seventh Day and Jehova Witness. It was very interesting when their beliefs switched over to standard Protestant teachings. I’m thinking that was around 1995 ? Then came the splinter group. Church of God Intl. ?

@@WT-Sherman I have this very odd memory of watching a broadcast of Herbert W Armstrong playing a piano solo of Moonlight Sonata. My parents definitely listened to his tapes. Even at the age of 11-13, I was already dreaming of attending the exclusive Ambassador College in Pasadena, California.

@BigBenMadLadGladTrad, Not trying to be cute here. Would you say that you are all in even with Papal infallibility, or is it more the church(institution) sacraments, etc.

@@kims144 Just so there's a baseline for the conversation, how would you define Papal infallibility? There's a lot of misunderstanding about what that means so it would help to know what exactly you think it means.

Mary and the rosary have had a big influence on me on my way, becoming a Catholic and to his son Jesus. I'm still on my way, but this time, I'm convinced that I will go all the way. And if I ever feel unsure or discouraged, I'll have my rosary to help me bring back to where I need to be. I received so much consolation and courage to face difficulties through rosary in various times in my life, and I'm so thankful for all the help I've received through the prayers of Our Lady of the Rosary.

This comment made us laugh. Since we run Rosary Army out of our house, we're pretty much around each other all the time, and are discussing things all day long. By the time we sit down for dinner, we hardly say a word as we don't have anything else to say by that time of day! Our dinners are very quiet. But the other times of day *are* hilarious! :)

It always both saddens and frustrates me when I hear of cradle Catholics whose parents completely and utterly failed in their primary obligation before God concerning their children. They have a sacred duty to pass on the Catholic faith whole and entire. It is not the responsibility of the Catholic school, the parish, or anyone else. The parents are completely responsible in the failure , in the “non- catechesis”. I too grew up in the 60’s and 70’s, but my parents and the parents of many of my friends took their responsibility seriously., despite the craziness in which the church was embroiled.

We hear you, @Catilieth. This is Greg responding, by the way. Unfortunately, in my case, I think the same priests who erroneously counseled me later in life, erroneously counseled my parents when I was younger on various things. The parishes we ended up at were definitely not ones that were overly focused on actual Catholic catechesis.

@@RosaryArmy I wonder whether the lack of catechesis is in some way tied to financial motives, motives to keep Catholic schools running, motives of trying to keep people physically in the 'church building' and attending Mass, and other such motives. When you are too concerned or sensitive to the things just mentioned, you can then be reluctant to catechise because it might do things like scare people away. How to fix such issues? Perhaps it needs a complete rethink of how the way things are and how they are done....

Wow what a beautiful testimony from Greg and Jennifer. May God bless them and their family in reaching more souls. It was really refreshing to hear their stories and hear the humility in telling us how they didn’t have all the answers and they didn’t always know what they were doing. I grew up similarly and I was always so afraid to admit that because I was intimidated by priests and anyone who I perceived as super holy. I truly believe we need more souls like Greg and Jennifer to tell the world that you won’t always understand why God is leading you to him and you won’t always understand everything about the faith but God will always reveal it to you in his timing 🙏🏼. Loved the humor in their story because everything they said I could relate to growing up and it’s so amazing to see how God how worked in their life. What an inspiring story and I pray young souls out there can learn from them and know to approach Catholicism with humility and trust and let Jesus and our Lady do the rest 🙏🏼✝️. May God he praised now and forever

Hi Jennifer, this is about Mary. I recently heard a voice while I was sleeping it said ,'All Jewish Kings chose their Mother to be their Queen'. I live in a senior citizen all protestant apartment's I'm thinking this explanation was from Mary,, Her help to me to explain her place with Jesus for protestants. In 1 Kings 2.20 King Soloman on His right side of His throne gave His Mother Bathsheba a throne. I found out the Kings that were born in the line of David was given that honor of choosing their Mother to be their Queen, and this was also Jesus's honor to chose His Mother to be Queen and Advocate. The name that Queens were given is' Debiriah', which means Queen Mother and Holy one. The reason this came to be because the Kings had hundreds of wives but one Mother. Jesus's brides are Sisters and Nuns, like Mother Angelica of EWTN, and Mother Theresa of Calcutta who gave their lives to Jesus in marriage. Thought this would help you know Mary more......., God Bless

Puerto Ricans ARE Americans!!!!! No such thing as being "Americanized"

I think she is referring to main stream American culture, which other subsets within the US also do not completely express either. that is a GOOD thing.

Culturally and linguistically, Puerto Ricans are Latino. Yes, they are a United States territory, so that they are citizens of the United States. But, culturally they are Latino and would stand out as being “other“ to most Americans. Hence the desire for her family to raise their children to be Americanized.

This is Greg here. Thanks for this comment. As @lisalapoint7022 and @Catilieth said, in Jennifer's case there was definitely an effort on the part of her parents to speak English and be more culturally like those in New York during the time of her childhood. You are absolutely correct that Puerto Ricans are Americans, but Jennifer's mom didn't speak English when she moved to America, and Jennifer's experience was that of watching her mom take strides to adapt to the new culture in which she found herself, which was very obviously non-Puerto Rican. No insult was meant by Jennifer, and hopefully, you can understand the meaning of what she intended.
