Only a fool would even attempt to discredit Arnel or to compare him to Steve Perry. This young man has an utterly amazing voice and deserves much more credit and support than he is given.

Arnel's vibrato in some parts is so emotional, almost like he is crying. Absolutely beautiful.

I have been a fan of journey since my early thirties. I am a 78 year old woman now and I think they are better than ever. I an so glad the young people today are getting to hear their sound. Arnel brings something special to the band.

Steve Perry is my favorite voice in pop/rock - but if the torch was to be passed to anyone, certainly, Arnel is worthy.

This guy has a beautiful voice. I will always be a fan of the original "The Voice," but Arnel deserves some serious credit! Amazing.

Just for the record, it is already 2022..and Arnel Pineda is still doing incredibly well as a lead singer of Journey! What was more amazing was that Journey performed in New York Times Square on New Year's Eve as the prime performer in that iconic event with millions of people watching!- That was such a rocking amazing performance Hats off!

I have to say,… The first time I heard or saw Arnel and journey playing I thought my boyfriend put an old CD in. I thought he was Steve Perry!!! And my boyfriend corrected me and told me who he was and I literally fell in love with this guy’s voice.♥️♥️♥️

I felt moved when I read Arnel Pineda's life-story. When his mom died they were broke. To ease his father's burden, Pineda quit school and started working. He spent about two years on the streets, sleeping wherever he could: in public parks, or on a narrow bench outside a friend's crowded house. He earned meager money by collecting glass bottles, newspapers, and scrap metal and selling them to recyclers. He would also go to the pier with his friends and take on odd jobs like cleaning scrap metal and docked ships. He didn't have much to eat. When Pineda was 15 years old (1982) he became the lead singer of the Filipino group Ijos, and later Amo. Didn't earn much but more than before, a rising curve started after he began singing in that band. In 1990 he and 5 other band members from Amo formed a new band called New Age. They worked in Hong Kong from 1991 to 2006. Back in Philippines in 2006 he formed a new band, called The Zoo. They became known on youTube performing cover songs by Journey, Survivor, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Air Supply, The Eagles, Kenny Loggins, Stryper and other popular acts from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. In the summer of 2007 Neal Schon of Journey contacted Pineda, asking him to come to USA for an odition as the new lead singer for Journey. On December 5, 2007, Pineda was announced as the new lead singer of Journey and the rest is history, as they said. He really fought hard to get where he is today and of course, indeed he deserve it. it's not easy to fill Steve Perry's shoes, but if someone could do it, it was Pineda. It was very lucky for both Pineda and Journey that he became the new lead singer. It was a deal made in Heaven. amen.

I have seen the ORIGINAL Journey with Steve P, in 1981 and several times after. I close my eyes and with Arnel, I hear Steve all over again. What a discovery of this kid, and his story is amazing. What a way to perpetuate the music of Steve and Journey.

You know I gotta say that even though the 'real" Journey will always include Steve Perry this guy is utterly amazing!! Like he was born for this in particular.

He isn't doing a Steve Perry impression. This is just how Arnel sings. If Steve Perry had died then I would say he had been reincarnated as Arnel. His voice is absolutely amazing. And come on people... You can't tell me you don't love hearing these songs again in such a familiar way. It's like replacing (and I use that word loosely) Freddie Mercury with Adam Lambert. It's not a replacement or someone trying to sing just like him, but it is someone who gets the spirit of the music they are performing and are respecting the way it was intended to be sung and performed. Long live Journey!

Charming and beautiful women , with a lot of personality and rudeness , educated , cultured , very nice , sociable , hard-working , independent and proactive. The country needed women like that , who delivered optimism , joy , good humor , affability and empathy. Someday , perhaps in a few decades , Chilean women will be that way , perhaps , perhaps , ... Everyone has their own voice and Arnel did a fantastic job doing that song. All the people trash talking, couldn't sing a single song from Journey's line of hits... don't trash people, unless you can do better. And once you can, I doubt you'd trash others, because it takes both talent and a solid state of mind to be able to accomplish what this man has done. Watch the Netflix documentary about Arnel's Journey... you may have a lot more respect for him after you watch it.
