This is a decent version, but you REALLY need to hear the full (5:24) studio version (NOT the Official Video as it is a chopped [by a full minute] version of the song for some crazy reason). But to get Steve Perry at his very best, "Mother Father - Live in Houston 1981" is an absolute MUST.

Finally, someone with a measure of wisdom & common sense asks a question worth answering. There is a Truth that very few people can comprehend even though it is right in front of them. It's called "Fake News". The experiences of 60 years of life have taught me one thing, the only way to know if something is true is to see it with your own eyes. I am not boasting when I say, I have been on the front page of a newspaper 6 times in my life and not one of the front page articles reported the correct facts of the situation. All this said, only a small fraction of what is on KZfaq is real, with the majority being fabricated for "clicks & views". I would suggest, the majority of what we have been told about human history is "False". If anyone is interested, let me know and I will point you in the right direction.

As a guy who played in bands for over 20 years I'm sure this was not released when this performance was recorded. The studio version of this song was much more developed and refined than this version. When this was recorded many bands would write and rehearse new songs while they were on tour and often play these songs to develope them and also see how the audience responded to them. It was one of the things you hoped you would get when you went to see a concert.

This was part of the soundtrack of the original movie Tron. Part of the reason for the synthesizer, since the movie is about video games and going into one.

That's the first time I've heard Steve off a little on his notes in a live performance. He's the most consistently perfect live performer most of the time.

FYI: Neil Schon was the second lead guitar in Santana [ the best ever line-up, BTW] before forming Journey.

Steve Perry was known as "The Voice". Watch Mother Father from the 1981 Houston live concert and there is a video out called 6 impossible lines sung by Steve Perry. Best Rock singer ever...
