When it comes to responding to your calls for help, firefighters have to be ready for anything.
Every Marysville Fire District firefighter is trained as either an EMT to meet your basic medical needs, or as a Paramedic to provide more advanced help like intravenous medication or intubation.
Becoming a Paramedic is not easy.
It takes about a year and includes hundreds of hours in the classroom, at the hospital with patients and in the ambulance with more patients.
Firefighters Sean Anderson and Tim Dalton are enrolled now in the Paramedic Training program operated by Bellingham Technical College in partnership with Bellingham Fire Department. During Emergency Medical Services Week, we’re giving you an inside look at their journey.
