China National Highway 318 was built in 1950 and completed in 1954. It starts from the People's Square in Shanghai, passes through Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Hubei, Chongqing, and Sichuan Provinces, and ends at the Friendship Bridge in Zhangmu Town, Nyalam County, Tibet. It has a total length of 5,476 kilometers and is currently the longest national highway in China.
National Highway 318 Shigatse Section is a picturesque highway and the highest altitude national highway in China. This highway is about 280 kilometers long, not only connecting two important cities in Tibet, but also connecting many magnificent natural attractions.

After climbing a nice mountain pass, we descend at altitudes under 4000m for the first time after many kilometers. The landscape changes, becoming much greener.
