Congrats Louise! Love your content. Can I ask what do you think helped the most in making the jump in subscribers? If I look at your 2017-2018 years, from 456 it jumped to 3k. Was it because you produced a lot more videos that year? Super useful to hear about your growth and how you started. Setting up realistic expectations is probably the hardest when starting a new business. Sooo THANK YOU for putting it out there! :)

Thank you! I'm working on getting my main channel (this one) from 73k to its 100k, I've also been at it for 5 years but it's a small niche in Spanish on essential oils. And I'm working on my new channel, that has only 1.4k, to bring it up - that one will have a bunch of tech tutorials! But also mindset (and also in Spanish, for female entrepreneurs). So this video was very inspirational!

I remember when you had less than 3k subs. Well done. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎯 I would have thought that your tech tutorials were working better as people come to KZfaq as a search engine to answer questions. May I ask what camera, equipment, tools, editing software, and other apps/software you are using for your channel? I'm torn between starting a channel in Spanish or English about marketing and business topic explanations. Less competition in Spanish but also I see that there's less money. On the other hand, having 2 of everything (2 YT channels, 2 podcasts, 2 Instagrams, etc) is crazy to me given how much time content creation takes, even more so when I am not good at the "production/packaging" aspect of content creation. Do you have any suggestions or thoughts to share here, L? My apologies for making this long and intimate comment.

In terms of your question, I can see how that would be a tough decision. It would be double the work, which, if you're okay to take on then I think it may be a good idea! However, if you feel like that would be too much then I would hate to see you sacrifice quality for quantity - just a thought! If you wanted to start with one, you could always add subtitles and descriptions in another language as well to appeal to both markets. Just a thought! Best of luck with your channel!

Biggest congratulations beauty! I think I started watching your channel when you were around 7k subs 😱My goal is to hit 100k too (hellooooo silver play button!) and totally agree re honing in on building a community first and not trying to create videos that "go viral". A couple of Qs for you... what's the mic you're using in this video (I think it's different to the link you've provided?) and do you think it's worth upgrading your audio? I'm currently using a rodes vlogging mic on my camera but thinking of getting an external one that can sit directly in front of me. Also... do you still edit your videos? This is something I'm struggling with. While I'm totally happy to keep my videos simple, I think it'd be nice to up the ante a little but I CBF learning how to (also who has the time!?)

Hey Kate! Thank you so much for all of your support!! 💛The mic I'm using is the Shure SM7B Cardioid Dynamic Microphone ! I love it. It also removes all background noise, which is so key. I think for great quality videos it is totally worth upgrading because it'll upgrade the video experience as well! For my videos, I actually mainly outsource this to one of my team members! It's proven to be such a great decision because she enjoys it and is good at it, and then it takes it off of my plate! xx

It was so interesting to see the breakdown year by year! I'm curious to know more about what happened between 2018 and 2019 that caused such a huge jump in revenue ($353 to $9,000). It looks like your views nearly doubled, with fewer videos posted, but I was surprised that led to a (taps in calculator) 2,500% increase in income. I'm assuming revenue isn't directly tied to views, then?

Thank you so much!! 💛 I appreciate you and your support! I have a few different team members and their roles vary! I have a few full-time team members, but then also outsource via contract for other tasks such as Facebook Ads! xx

Congratulations, Louise :) When you speak about your earnings from KZfaq, do you refer only to money made through KZfaq Monetization/YT ads shown on your channel, or do you also include the money you made through clients that found you through your KZfaq channel? :) Just to get an idea of what to expect with KZfaq Monetization. Hey Mia! This is just money earned specifically from KZfaq ads! I have 2 other ways I've earned from this channel - by driving people back to my 3 paid programs and by using affiliate links. These bring in a lot more revenue for me and where I put most of my energy :) There's so much you can do which is really exciting - one on one clients, group programs, courses, digital products, affiliate links, sponsorships. I'm sure there is even more I'm not thinking of!

I would give people a reason at the beginning of your video to stay until the end! So keep a really good piece of info until then!

Timestamp for motivation 1:48 - Year 1 (134 subs) 3:04 - Year 2 (456 subs) 4:40 - Year 3 (3k subs) 5:09 - Year 4 (79k subs) 5:27 - Year 5 (100k subs) Rome wasn't built in a day and neither is your channel. Others might get lucky and blow up but you might not so just grind it out and work hard.
