Though it was a great moment when I saw an EMD with the Food King but can anyone kindly let me know the reason behind it especially when the entire route is being electrified way back !!! By the way, Satya Bhai and Sandeep Bhai were the missing persons or rather railfans in this journey.

KR even after full electrification is facing loco shortage and hence there are some trains with EMD still. This is now a problem all across India where electrification is being done at a very fast pace, much faster than e-loco production to compensate the gaps.

Shortage of powerful electric locos at CR Mumbai. Kalyan shed has only few WAP7 and no WAP4 rest are WCAM2/3 which are not good for a 22 coach express train to run at full speed hence EMD's are doing this as they are capable of it.
