Lyrics
When routine bites hard
And ambitions are low
And resentment rides high
But emotions won't grow
And we're changing our ways, taking different roads
Then love, love will tear us apart again
Love, love will tear us apart again
Why is the bedroom so cold?
You've turned away on your side
Is my timing that flawed?
Our respect runs so dry
Yet there's still this appeal
That we've kept through our lives
But love, love will tear us apart again
Love, love will tear us apart again
You cry out in your sleep
All my failings exposed
And there's a taste in my mouth
As desperation takes hold
Just that something so good
Just can't function no more
Then love, love will tear us apart again
Love, love will tear us apart again
Then love, love will tear it apart again
Love, love will tear it apart again

I feel like it's the little things that keep us going. My job sucks. My girlfriend cheated on me. I live in a shitty, noisy apartment. But I get strength and happiness from the small things in life. The sun. The rain. Helping an elderly person. Saying hi to random strangers. Holding the door open for someone. It makes me feel good.

Lot of people thinks to joy division music as sad music.. i don't.. there is a difference between quality and crap, that makes you feel happy for only one second and at last, all the good feeling desappears.. and doesn't make you think as you listen to it.. i love jd music because it makes me travel whit my emotions.. exploring myself.. this is what makes music eternal. ❤

Now 40 years since their last concert, Ian's suicide and the band's subsequent breakup. Even the fact they were only around for 3 years doesn't diminish the legacy or influence they continue to have. However mental health still remains a stigma 40 years later. It's ok not to be ok, don't be afraid of speaking to your family or mates. Love Will Tear Us Apart at some point in our lives, but it will also bring us closer together.

From a certain point of view my life sucks, in my 20s with not a lot money, balding , not popular by any means, but I feel like I am so lucky to have a rich appreciation of music and art and a deep fascination for the things that most would consider trivial. I've read many books on Joy Division and you're right there really is a darkness too his life. I think the man was a genius. The film "Control" in my opinion was really well done. It was a sad loss when he passed away and although New Order are a great band I often wonder what other great songs Ian Curtis could have given us. "Love Will Tear Us Apart" in my opinion has to be one of the greatest songs of all time. No matter how many times I've heard it it still sounds good every time and to be honest I rarely only listen to it once at a time I have to press repeat a few times, which is the sign of a good song.

It's 2024... it's been 44 years since you've been with us... it's unbelievable to me. what did you go through, what did you go through.. I don't know how long I will live, but thanks to this music and your other music, it is easier to survive the days... this life is hard to fight and fight, to fight the war with myself and the things around me.. .I discovered you 4 years ago when I was 11, which may not be much, but during that time I realized that your music and stuff was amazing. your music saves me better than drugs. I'm counting the days, how much time I have left here, I gave myself a day or two a few months ago, but I'm still here. I write poems, lyrics, play guitar and piano. these save me.. I will buy the other vinyls from Joy division but what I want the most and know I will have forever is a Joy division concert. I love you and miss you so much! whoever is part of this punk/post punk subculture tour will remember you forever! I know you can't read this and feel my love, but if I'm not here anymore, I won't survive tomorrow, all this will be in my heart forever and I will remember you! I hope you stay. When I was 15 I almost left the planet - I had run away from home, I was ditching school, got pregnant from first time, boyfriend left me, SO many things. I let music help me through my pain - I was 13 when this song was released. I have had SO MANY amazing days since then. This life can be SO painful but it is WORTH IT! Stick around and live big. All of us other humans need you here.

I discovered Joy Division back in the 80's as a young teenager. It was like discovering a mysterious object from outer space, or some ancient stone tablet covered in mystic runes. Their songs are so emotional and compelling but mysterious and otherworldly at the same time. You experience Joy Division, but you never really "understand" them. That's a compliment, and a quality of all great art--the mystery of it. The depth. Like the unfathomable depth and beauty of the ocean.

He made a playlist containing 6 songs that was edited the day he passed. This is one of the 6 songs. Lyrics [Verse 1] When routine bites hard and ambitions are low And resentment rides high, but emotions won't grow And we're changing our ways, taking different roads [Chorus] Then love, love will tear us apart again Love, love will tear us apart again [Verse 2] Why is the bedroom so cold? You've turned away on your side Is my timing that flawed? Our respect runs so dry Yet there's still this appeal that we've kept through our lives [Chorus] But love, love will tear us apart again Love, love will tear us apart again [Instrumental Break] [Verse 3] You cry out in your sleep, all my failings exposed There's a taste in my mouth as desperation takes hold Just that something so good, just can't function no more [Chorus] Then love, love will tear us apart again Love, love will tear us apart again Then love, love will tear it apart again Love, love will tear it apart again

ha ha ha...you can't be serious. even you ignore depression. every day of your life. how many times can you honestly say, that a friend called and said, hey wanna hang out...and you say, oh i don't know...because you knew that friend was depressed and went on and on about their problems to the point where it was bumming you out, so you said you would but you had things to do. your cousin calls and wants to know if you want to go see a movie. no...not really, so you tell them you already had other plans...etc. a homeless person is in the street yelling at himself. you're in your car, you drive by hoping he doesn't do something crazy to you or your car. he has mental issues, yet you won't let him sleep on your porch...but you really do care, it's just that....................a person comes into the emergency room surrounded by cops, strapped to a gurney, because he was grabbing people and threatening people. you look away, hoping he doesn't involve you. you stay far enough away to not get hurt, but close enough to see the action, when they wrestle him off the gurney. you could have went over to ask if he needed a friend. could you call someone for him to talk to, does he need to eat something. try to help calm the situation....not you. he's gross and greasy. you can't touch something like that. it's not always the kid down the street or the pop star. it's people you see every day in your life and do nothing to help them. i know you don't try to help. i've seen you, and your family and your friends. i'm that 'gross thing' that needed your help. you weren't there. get it? of course not. it makes you feel better to shout slogans you can chant... 'never ignore depression'....while you, yourself, ignore depression.

@@patcoats he was kidding. Those of us who continually fight depression give ourselves breaks. It may be an addictive behaviour, drugs or real progress.
