The way Ian fades into the dark on the last verse and lets the haunting guitar and loud drums do the work is the best thing ever

Ian Curtis was a haunted and artistically gifted soul who will forever fascinate future generations.

40 years on and still as poignant and relevant now as then. Having recently read Stephen Morris's autobiography as to how the band (Ian in particular) struggled through these European dates - they are rough gems to treasure.

I have to read that, I didn’t even hear had an autobiography. Morris is such and underrated drummer.

Well, to be honest I can understand. This what is beautiful music to us, could be some too loud noise to others.

I hear a bit of Black Sabbath in this song, but that’s absolutely not meant in a negative way! Great song of a great band. I’m so glad that I saw Anton Corbijn’s movie ‘Control’. Several times.

A loaded gun won't set you free, neither will a hangman's noose nor a needle in the arm, they only end mental and physical pain and suffering. As I've grown older and now am in my twilight years, I realize that its only God through our Redeemer Jesus Christ who really sets us free of the pain that the world brings to us all, in one way or the other. All one has to do is say to Him is, Christ I know You took on the Pain and Sin of the world for us all and I can no longer tote this burden so this bundle of troubles and sorrow I lay at the foot of your cross to carry for me for You are Greater than I.

if that is all it takes for you, thats great, but it really makes me question your understanding of pain and suffering if that is all it takes. my brain doesnt work properly, thats about the end of it.
