Lyrics:
Confusion in her eyes that says it all.
She's lost control.
And she's clinging to the nearest passer by,
She's lost control.
And she gave away the secrets of her past,
And said I've lost control again,
And a voice that told her when and where to act,
She said I've lost control again.
And she turned around and took me by the hand and said,
I've lost control again.
And how I'll never know just why or understand,
She said I've lost control again.
And she screamed out kicking on her side and said,
I've lost control again.
And seized up on the floor, I thought she'd die.
She said I've lost control.
She's lost control again.
She's lost control.
She's lost control again.
She's lost control.
Well I had to 'phone her friend to state my case,
And say she's lost control again.
And she showed up all the errors and mistakes,
And said I've lost control again.
But she expressed herself in many different ways,
Until she lost control again.
And walked upon the edge of no escape,
And laughed I've lost control.
She's lost control again.
She's lost control.
She's lost control again.
She's lost control.

Perhaps their best song. Everything from the bassline to the drums to the creative and deep instrumentation as a whole and of course Ian's voice, lyrics and interpretation are perfect. The song is deep and moving at the same time and the whole package is amazing and unparalleled. What a glorious band Joy Division were indeed!

This video should be the official jawn. Loving how that wife is all like please don’t leave me to be a damsel in distress, all alone in this big ass house. And, the husband is all like babe, I gotta go be a savage, then promptly leaves her to her own devices.

@MalMotorDedo
@MalMotorDedo Жыл бұрын

I have been listening to Joy Division and New Order for a long time now, though only recently I learned of the connection between the two and of what happened to Ian. I felt so sad when I read of the tragedy. Reason being, I can identify and sympathize with you all. My sister Ini passed away of a grand mall seizure at 28 years old. She just couldn't come out of it. It was devastating. Im telling you this so I can tell you that I remember that just before she was going to seizure she would try to run wherever she could to hide. We know she was terribly embarassed that they happened. We all always understood and would reassure her and support her through them the best we could too but we know it was terribly hard for her. I just wish we here in America could have told Ian we would have understood .. we all would have loved to see him sing and done whatever it took to help him if he did have one while performing. Im so sorry if it was his fear we wouldnt have embraced him epilepsy or not. I know we all love Joy Division . Love

I like this one. Joy Division's music is so associated with 70s Manchester it's hard to set it anywhere other than the impoverished Britain of that era, but the noir style of this vid is a nice choice. It has a theme, which is great, and is beautifully shot. I think it deserves some respect for that alone

Oh my god, it's so nice to watch one of these that actually has thoughtful consideration to the presentation for once. I love the use of an earthquake as an allusion to epilepsy or the displays of OCD and mental collapse. It's a little over the top but the feelings I get while watching are so much closer to the track than almost all of these. This one and Insight are the best so far.

@@codykhaos4987 that sounds like an interesting idea. I think the song is about epilepsy considering Ian Curtis had the condition and the lyrics seem to relate to a seizure, especially in the lines 'And she screamed out, kicking on her side, and said "I've lost control again" and seized up on the floor, I thought she'd die'. however, I think the feeling of losing control can be applicable to many mental health issues including OCD, eating disorders and bipolar disorder

Well, I've always imagined a really dark, hopeless and very disturbing place/scenario as I listen to this song. The drum beat at the beggining it's like echoes inside your mind that puts you in such a tension. As the music develops, the guitar riff ain't catchy, Ian's voice sounds as if he's about to have a mental breakdown (more when he sangs She's lost control in repeat and the instrumental changes a little bit as the lyrics becomes more and more darker and it's like there's no salvation to that girl/character of the song and the ending makes you anxious). This video really puts you in that dark and chaotic place, it materialize those feelings of despair and anguish. But the character here doesn't looks like an epileptic, more like someone that has social anxiety and goes crazy because of her loneliness.

This one... This one was actually all right! They had some quirky edits and their story to the MASTERPIECE of she's lost control took the whole disorientated aspect really literally! The shot where she's stumbling down the hallway at 0:42 was incredible. They also paid amage to how joy division had the spraying sound in the track she's lost control using a spray can. They timed the spraying of window cleaner along with the drum best perfect at 1:35. I also like how, for me anyway, the earthquake can represent her sanity crumbling down in a world that's quite literally black and white, but trying to hold on just a little longer by fixing up the shelves and washing the windows. She breaks down crying when she can't sweep up the rubble on the floor because in turn: the damage is already done. That's why she starts breaking up the floors in the hallway and changing her look. She's realised there's no hope in trying to pick up the pieces of a broken mind. She's accepted how she is now She's gone. She's not who she was. She's let go of her mind. She's lost control...

Hubieran recreado el episodio real en que se baso Ian para escribir la canción, o hubieran puesto una recopilación del epilepsy dance.

Curtis primarily drew the lyrical inspiration for "She's Lost Control" from a young woman with whom he had become acquainted through his employment as an Assistant Disablement Resettlement Officer at a Macclesfield occupational rehabilitation centre between 1978 and 1979.[9][10] The woman had epilepsy and had been desperate to find employment,[11] yet she suffered seizures whenever she came to the exchange, which would greatly disturb Curtis, who himself suffered from epilepsy.[11] At one stage, this young woman ceased attending her appointments at the occupational rehabilitation centre.[12][13] Initially, Curtis assumed she had found a job, but he would later discover she had died of an epileptic seizure.
