A small sample from the BBC's wonderful 2 disc collection of Joyce Grenfell's sketches and songs. I did not make this video.

Love people with character and Joyce Grenfell was. Absolutely fanatstic, can't stop laughing at the wonderful voices and performance. Brilliant stuff.

Gentle humour at its very best. Modern so-called comedians are nothing compared with Joyce Grenfell

What fun I’m having watching all these Joyce Grenfell sketches. Thank you for posting them. I’m sure that you’re bringing lots of pleasant memories to lots of people, and lots of joy to those who have just discovered this wonderful lady.

You are so right. I always loved Joyce. It's a delight to be able to see her again. I just can't find one of my favourites, Cocktail Party.

The way she changes her mouth and pulls faces from 1:07 is spot on. I knew a lady who went to boarding school and said words like ‘frightful’ and this is basically her.

Her ability to get a laugh from what seemed a throwaway line at the end - PRICELESS! NO so-called "comedienne" these days could come anywhere close to her.

Joyce was extraordinary. But it's such a shame you can't watch anything pre-2000 on KZfaq without every other comment being a boomer who chose to stay behind and thinks that means they were left behind, whining and crying about everything new.
