I tried to go wireless but it just feels weird after 40 years to not have the drag of the cable and now at 62 I don't see me jumping around the stage much anymore. As a matter of fact I just ordered an attachment for my walker to hold my guitar.. old folks home circuit here I come! :)

@@Paul_Lenard_Ewing I'm so tired of tripping over my cable on the guitar. I had other wireless units before. I just ordered this Joyo Wireless system and it's excellent !!! I went down the hall in my condo about 142 feet away and the signal was still 100% strong without cutting out. Who's going to go 100 feet away anyways? LOL....Not even onstage. The Joyo so far is a great wireless unit. IMO. Great review and test Robert Jackson!!! Cheers man !!! :)

I have played almost exclusively wireless for about 20 years. I currently use a Line 6 G50 system and love the freedom it offers. I would never go back to cables. It's good to see decent entry level wireless systems made available. I wish we would of had systems like this when I started in the 80's.

I've used this for about three years now and have played more than 50 gigs without a single problem. However, I wish they felt more robust, especially the on/off slider. I keep thinking it is going to break. It hasn't, but I still think it's a matter of time. Of course, for $40 I should buy a backup unit and quit worrying about it.

Having to use a noise gate on high gain as noisier than a cable is off putting as this adds to the cost and complexity. Maybe better to pay more and not have this issue.

@@RobertWJackson Yesterday I saw a video from a guy with a Jackson Minion Bass and it produced serious amounts of noise. He said no matter what expansive or cheap cable he used, it only went away using a wireless system.
@RobertWJackson Жыл бұрын
That’s the RARE exception, not the rule. And the noise was likely coming from a bad grounding issue rather than the cable. ANY studio engineer worth their salt would never record your track with a wireless system.

How do none of these reviews mention the fact that these things cannot handle even a moderately loud pickup without distorting?
@RobertWJackson2 жыл бұрын
Because it’s fun to see who complains about it. It also might have something to do with the fact that pickups are not power sources or volume controls and, therefore, do not factor into an electric guitar’s overall volume whatsoever. (In other words, it’s another level control or gain stage in your signal path causing the problem, not the wireless system. That’s the equivalent of blaming the instrument cable.)
@pipelineaudio2 жыл бұрын
@@RobertWJackson The pickups are clipping the transmitter. You can see it happen on the Line 6 Relay G50 as well. The distortion happens before any amp input or anything else. I showed several wirelesses on a live video a few days ago, also comparing them with a cable, which, like the Shure GLXD did not distort, while the Lekato and Joyo units did. The Relay G30 and G50 clip, but the distortion really isn't audible. I am going to try and take the Joyo and lekato apart and see if I can add a trim pot like the better wirelesses have.
@pipelineaudio2 жыл бұрын
Trimpot is like 4 dollars, so if this fixes the issue its a massive score!
