I found the problem with joystick many have after 3 hours of reading forums and watching all tutorials on joystick setup. Deep down in the comments of one youtube video one said you must make sure X-Axis Z-Axis and Y-Axis it assigned to analog input and not digital. It is pretty much impossible to get them all right in the first try since it does not say what is analog and digital... I did just follow a screenshot how do do it right and it fixed all the joystick problems with my old Logitech Force Feedback 3d. *** Original post *** :Joystick control in FS2020 is totally and utterly fucked up on most sticks on the market and the sensitivity setting do not work, it just make input lag larger... When I fly the Beach-craft 350 and turn the joystick it take 2 seconds before it reacts to a roll, (up and down works perfectly fine and linear without any delay). Also when it finally reacts it does not mimic what the joystick do, it react same as if you are using a keyboard to fly. Meaning no matter how little you turn the stick it reacts and it does not react how much you push on the stick but for how LONG you keep the stick in the position. Only way to actually fly is to use the joystick like it was a keyboard pumping it, this is just ridiculous and internet is full of people complaining about it. Some people say they have no problem at all but most say their joystick simply is unusable in FS2020 and I am one of them with my Logitech Force Feedback 3d pro. Even stranger is that all the above only is for the roll, up and down works perfectly fine and linear with no input lag... Lot of people complaining about exactly the same problem since FS2020 came out and nothing has been done to fix it. . .. ... ... . .... ... ,,

Whatever Microsoft did in that update, they janked my joystick. It has a massive dead zone now.

Same here. I thought the autopilot was fighting my controls or something. I had to reset the sensitivity and completely start over.

I really dislike those positive and negative scalas for sensivity. Therefore kind of an exponential zone exist, when you have a high joystick deflection. It's really hard to intercept very softly.

thanks. I am currently struggling with using a keyboard for this and I was curious about using a joystick. Knowing how this is done goes a long way towards a decision to use a joystick and calibrating it.

It's a night and day difference using a joystick, especially when you get the sensitivity dialed in.

It would be interesting to hear from real GA Pilots and find out what they set their controls at?? Ps. What is the neutral setting for?? Cheers from the UK!
@Turbochuck3 жыл бұрын
The neutral setting moves the curve left or right. I believe the end result is that the stick is either pushed forwards or backwards a bit while not touching the joystick. FYI, I am a GA pilot and I have a joystick configuration video (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/osdyjKxq2ceme4E.html) showing all of my joystick control mappings. I haven't done a video for keyboard mappings yet, but might in the future.

@@Turbochuck appreciate your reply! Cheers! Do your settings emulate a real GA plane? S
@Turbochuck3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I spent a lot of time trying to match my joystick sensitivity to the real plane I fly most often. Makes it much more realistic for me.

Is ther any way to fix that rudder? I have the same joystick and it's really annoying having the rudder-like that. I am thinking about making or getting a set of foot pedals. Also, Would you be able to make a tutorial on how to set up wasd to look around? I probably could do this myself lol
@Turbochuck3 жыл бұрын
I haven't come up with a better solution for the rudder yet. I'll probably end up getting a joystick that can twist to control the rudder, although pedals would be pretty cool.
@caesaragomez21353 жыл бұрын
great explain, but how do you control rudder on ground and air, mine is to sensitive please help. thank you.
@Turbochuck3 жыл бұрын
I use two buttons on the top of my joystick, but I need to tap them because it's super sensitive. Not the best solution for sure. It would be better to use a joystick that has an additional axis for the rudder.

If I select in the Control Options a column for keyboard or a mouse and press that Sensitivity box I can see that settings of sensitivity are 50%. Any ideas about what that 50% care about?
