@@coxscorner yeah, that is why i cannot understand the hype about "how stockfish played awesome chess". I mean the game is amazing and there are couple of instructive moments, no doubt about it.

Yes, the sequence after self pinning the knight on c3 was just mindboggling. I could literally look at that position for a thousand years and never come up with that.

It's amazing to understand how powerful white's attack is even though down a piece. I had struggled against this opening for quite some time. It takes many moves with highly accurate play for black to feel more comfortable.

The pre-agreed opening sacrifice moves by Leela to give it a positional edge actually gave Stockfish an advantage it never relinquished. Brilliant tactics by both sides 😉

is there any game between this two engines but without any predefined opening position? that's not a pure chess, that's a thematic chess, and that of course is a big difference.
@blijebij

What a marvelous game! I think as engines will evolve more, its logic they will come closer to eachothers potential. So in a few years or 5 years dont be surprised, if it will become more common to have at ai computer tournaments shared winners!

I really wouldn't consider this a valid way to determine which engine is better than the other, while a human can beat another human while being a piece under due to the imperfections of human play, an engine can't. This fealt a bit like a battle royale where bad luck can ruin all your chances, just seems unfair.
