The rook lift and the king advance were both great defensive moves,which in the endgame became ideally placed attacking pieces. Thanks Josip.

Thanks, Josip another perfectly analyzed game. In reference to your "sometimes we forget" statement, that reminded me of Bobby Fischer saying "My opponents make good moves too. Sometimes I don't take these things into consideration." Looking for the first paused move, I think Pawn to G5. Wow, King to D2... amazing! And since I mentioned Bobby, he also claimed "It's just a matter of throwing in a few sacrifices, then checkmate!" How Stockfish is that! Loved your comment about Stockfish's play "I don't have to rush!" speaking of great game principles. It was a spectacular game by Stockfish. And you mentioned Stockfish is sometimes winning with the Black pieces... reminded me of another insight by Bobby that Stockfish does well... Bobby said "The turning point in my career came with the realization that Black should play to win instead of just steering for equality."

HEY I saw the "move of the game" in a few seconds. Does that mean I play like Stockfish??

Dear Josip, i would like to mention that the whole opening line was quite old, and also the moves after 16.- Qa5 had already been played! The position after 20.Rd3!! was far from new! This position had been played in the famious Candidate Final from 1974 in Leningrad between Karpov and Kortchnoi (game 2), and after 20.- Rc4-c5 ? 21.g5 Karpov won without difficulty. So we should remember what great player Anatoli Karpov was, even in a time where computer and chess engines were pure science fiction.

Rare to see a bishop dominated that way by a knight in an endgame on both sides of the board, of course having the rooks on the board made it easier.

Check out tcec game 64 is going on right now. Stockfish could draw as black in game 63 and complete and utter destruction in game 64. Annihilation i would say. Very brutal

Why do organizers let these engines play the human's 'stupid' openings? Let the engines play on their own.
@Life-Sky

The engines play different openings, mainline theory exists because engines find this moves. The reason they make engines play different openings is to create variety and to "test" their strenght: Stockfish also has to play with the black pieces this same opening, the difference is that the fish is soo good that it manages to draw or even win with a worse opening!

To see if they can get out of the mess and still win... it's deliberate and by design. The strong engines will undo the "damage" of the bad openings.

These each engines play many matches against each other. Engines play almost deterministic (atleast stockfish does), which means they will play the same game over and over again, the only variance might come from the way threads are handled. By giving them openings to play you get different games

If you want to see draws there are plenty available. The format here is to give the engines possibly drawing or possibly winning lines, to keep them away from some ultra-safe lines. We'd have computer draws instead of grandmaster draws. But i think this tournament has just what you ask, but only for some games. Personally won't be watching those boring draws that I don't understand why they end up draws.

If you don't set book moves for engines, they will simply play berlin defenses and draw every game

I like your TCEC analysis, but you ONLY show Stockfish victories - which gets a bit boring. TCEC 25 superfinal was very close with a 52 - 48 score. Could we see some of the Leela victories as well over here ?
