@@23SuperAngel23 this is so true. I found an awesome partner and am very happy with him. Last week my ex contacted me wanting something. Proposing to meet up. I'll never forgot all the pain i went through after our breakup. How he didn't let me go, told me he still loved me and played with me. I mean of course it was my fault, too. But i was the one crying myself to sleep several times a week for several months, not him. Even if i was single, i would never ever forget that pain. I don't wish him something bad. But we will never be friends. I cannot be friends with someone who put me through so much pain. So my advise to everyone out there: do not forget past pain. Don't be resentful, don't be mean. But if someone ever comes back around after causing you so much hurt, don't let these people back in in your life. Make space for gentle souls. For people you can grow with

This song speaks volumes about how I was feeling some time ago about my college crush. She didn't even like me back,but I still loved her. But finally,a few days before graduating college,after struggling so hard to let her go,I finally did,and now,when all of us meet up and I see her,I only remember the love I had for her and not the negative aspects. I used to have such a huge crush on my best friend. And things recently ended between me and her because I needed to put myself first. I think the nice thing is, their was a period of time when me and her where fighting allot and the song the few things reminds me of that time and how I had issues opening up and trusting her and this song symbolizes how hard it is to let go of the relationship I really wanted so damn badly. It's weird, she knew me like the back of her hand and she was always their for me when I needed it. The problem is I needed help becuse I didn't feel secure with the relationship being that of just friends and that drove me crazy. And I know she would eventually find someone better thn me and that would break my heart. I tried so badly to get over her when we where friends but that never worked and I would always fall back in her eyes.

It’s sad that all of us who are in love with this song can relate to it. We love someone who isn’t here anymore. Watch modern love on Amazon, there's an episode that explains what some of us are feeling. A guy makes an app about love. My decade long relationship ended almost a year ago, 3 days from now, so it's been hard. No matter what I will always love him and it's crazy. I love someone new (a wonderful, incredible man who is more loving and amazing than I could ever wish to deserve), but I will never stop loving my angel too. In one of this recent Instagram lives he mentioned that the writing and recording process can be long, months to sometimes years. So, a lot of the times, what he felt/wrote back then doesn’t mean he feels that way currently. I totally relate to this as a writer. Loves come and go, but a song keeps the emotions of the moment an artist is writing about. :)

It's been a year and still I'm here listening to this song. hardest hitting part was "Maybe that's the problem cause I still think it was up to me, when I never could've made you stay". still hurts and will probably be for a very long time. Came a long way and still a long way to go. I miss her everyday, and I hope she's doing great. She deserves everything beautiful in this world. This song is very unique in the way it was written. The lyrics aren't predictable (to me at least). It sounds like he's having a conversation..one he replays in his mind constantly..or one he has had with her..I am a singer. I was always afraid to write. When I did begin to do so my lyrics looked like a letter to someone rather than the way a song would be built traditionally. I stopped writing after awhile..One day I was listening to " We're still friends" Donny Hathaway...I play that song on repeat 50 times...There is SOMETHING about that song that just sets my soul on fire...The piano played so simply..and in it..Donny talks about a woman he used to love..and how years later they bumped into one another..still having the respect and love to be friends..It was so simple...But the entirety of the song..so deep and relatable. This is what this song reminds me of.

I know it sounds strange, and not all the lyrics apply but when I hear this song I think of my mother and hard it must have been for her when I grew up and made bad decisions and absolutely broke her heart. The heartbreak and unconditional love and hope that she carries for her children.

From the moment this song was released, I was in love with it. It's really sad that the person I felt for moved on and I'm the only one still thinking about him. Discovered this in Nov 20 when i had my worst heartbreak. Then over 3 yrs later when the scars dried up this came back to me. All i do is get over her, and i was so bad at it. Yes it took couple years. It is a stupendous period of time to get over a person. But i did at last.

Thank you for writing this song. I also blamed myself for the way we fell apart and I kept on replaying the last moments together thinking I might have changed the ending somehow if I did anything different. It was only years later that I realized maybe there was nothing that could have made him stay if he was already set on leaving. It's so hard to break up with someone you still love. Sometimes we just don't have a choice but to let them go and hope we all can move on in time.

Looking back to what's only 8 months, yet it feels like a lifetime. I was a complete different person back then, I was chasing a lost cause, being played, hurt again and again on a daily basis, yet I never gave up. I would wake up in the middle of the n right due to heartache, I would write heartbreak love songs whenever I come back from school, I would imagine these picture-perfect scenarios where everything worked out. This song, is probably the most important song I've heard, something that have been helping me cop with everything going on, and inspired me to write songs. Eventually though, I managed to move on, with the help of someone else who, eventually became my lover. I guess I got used to being treated wrong and the sadness that I didn't know what happiness and love really felt like...but I do now. It has been a while since I rewatched/heard this song "A little bit yours" and the reminiscence really made me now realized how much I have grown and how much things have changed... Thank you JP

You sir, have done what songwriters have aspired to do since pen could be put to pad. Put into words the impossible. To take an invisible thing like heart break and make it something tangible like a song? You did this, as no other I ever heard. Every note is perfection. when i first heard this on an instagram live, i was going through a bad breakup and was in a terrible place mentally. this song put all my feelings into words. listening to it helped me accept that just love wasn't enough and even though it was over, it was for the better and that person would forever have a little piece of me, even if its just the memories we made together. it feels so good to listen now that is released and be feeling a lot better. thank you jp, for having the best songs to cry to and being one of the most brilliant singers and songwriters out there.
