Welcome back to Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania everyone, home of the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway which is ran by the Reading & Northern Railroad. In this video we cross off another Bucket List item as I get to ride in a Diesel Locomotive Cab for a 45 minute round trip ride. We'll see the engineer at work, learn more about this impressive machine and see what the views are like from the cab. This is something I'm glad I can bring you along for so we can experience it together. So grab your ticket and come along with me as we take an incredible ride.

I did this back in April after chasing one of 2102's test runs. My ride was on a rainy day, but it was the full 70 minute ride. I had Ian as my engineer and he was great too. So cool that RBMN offers this to their fans!

I had the opportunity to have a cabride on the Lehigh Gorge back in 2017 and I also did a cabride on the New Hope and Ivyland railroad they were both incredible experience's

I went on a train ride last year and it was about 3 hours long and they served us lunch. It was so much fun. God be willing next year I hope to go again when the leaves are changing here in Arkansas. Enjoyed this video. TFS🙂❤️

As a kid many years ago I rode in the cab of a few steam locomotives. My father was an engineer for the Chicago Northwestern RR out of Chicago.

Don't go to New Hope and ivyland railroad $50 bucks won't get you much of anything and parking is outrageous.. and WOW 😲 this looked like a lot of fun!!! I know I would have enjoyed that even more from your vantage point....

Have you looked into the Sorin Eagle Rail yet? It closes soon for the winter and won't open again until spring. It's a railbike adventure in the Poconos.

That was cool to see what you saw. The last time my dad was in PA, he took a cab ride at Steamtown. They hooked him up with earplugs and safety glasses for the ride. Now that you've done diesel, you should consider the steam train cabin ride.

AWESOME!! So glad you finally got your cab ride, and you sure picked the perfect day for it! 2013 is the same one I rode in, and about a week before you did your ride I was on my ebike chasing 2013 with Jeff at the controls. Yeah, they do run fast this time of year lol! That info sheet they give out now is really cool, I paused to read it. They didn't have that when I rode earlier this year. I like all info about its history with NS and its remodel from a high hood to low hood. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us!

Wow amazing footage. This was a really awesome video I enjoyed every second of it to the very end. I Love Trains all my life of 43. And you think that I would know what the inside of a cab of a diesel train looks like. This was really my first time seeing that. I loved your choice of Music at the end of the video, I do like dance music and I fool around with it with FL Studio, and even produce some of my material in my other channels. It's nowhere near professional and stuff I done but I still enjoyed it and had a lot of fun doing it. But I thought that the country style Rock was more appropriate with the foliage of the leaves and going down the rails through a mountain pass. As always stay safe, healthy and God bless you. 🙂❤✝️👍

I have a question ? Why is the emergency brake valve on the conductor side ? Isnt that for the engineer to use instead? And that is to put the train into emergency correct?
